Hi there, I'm Kisara_chan! I take it if you're reading this box you want to know a little more about me? ok, here goes...

Well...I'm 18 years of age, currently studying for a joint degree in english and creative writing. I am originally from the derbyshire region, but for university purposes am living in Leicester. I spend most of my free time (and unfortunately, money) watching anime and buying manga and i consider my entrance to japanimation to be Yu-Gi-Oh. it was my favourite manga/anime for at least three years. My favourite mangas at the present time include:

    Immortal Rain

    Fushigi Yugi

    Vampire Knight

    Saiyuki

    I also like:

    Tsubasa

    Caramel Diary

    Fruits Basket

Though I haven't seen enough volumes to make a proper decision about them. When it comes to anime, i have a very pedantic attitude; subs are hot, dubs are not. i was very therefore shocked to learn that I liked Avatar. here are a few of my favourite anime shows (so far).

    Naruto

Naruto Shippuden (I know they're the same show, but lots of people stopped watching at the filler episodes.)

    Death Note

    Yu-Gi-Oh

    Spirited Away

The Cat ReturnsWell, okay, anything by Studio Ghibli is an automatic favourite in my books

    Sky Blue

    I'm also currently watching:

    Bleach

    Chobits

I have yet to incorporate it into my work, but I'm a fan of most music - my favourite bands include...

    Within Tempation

    Nightwish

    Evanescence

    Three Day's Grace

    Lacuna Coil

I'm going to see Nightwish in the Astoria this March - I can't wait!

I have a friend who is a writer on ffnet, so as you can probably understand, we talk about fan fiction quite a lot. Here is what i do not enjoy in fan fiction...

    1) Predictibilty/Repetition - If you are a member of quizilla as well, you will know what I mean. I hate cliches, situations that repeat from one story to the next and so forth and I especially hate it when a story becomes predictible.

    2) OOC - If you ignore the canon there is no real point. (How many stories change Itachi into a lovable teddy bear, knowing full well that he killed his own mother?) The best writing i have read uses the canon to further their writing, not change it. That said, if you are writing a specific genre, such as humour or crackfic then it is forgivable.

    3) Mary Sues/Gary Stus - There are just too many of them at the moment. I remember reading a HP fic about Dumbledore's granddaughter coming to stay at Grimmauld Place. Point number one, Dumbledore is of the homosexual equation. Point number two, why on earth would Harry mysteriously stop wearing Dudley's oversized sweaters and (!) his glasses, start talking in monosyllables - example 'hey'- and, possibly the worst, dye his hair blonde? Point number three, Harry would never date a girl he just met, especially one with breasts the size of potatoes - he's too busy pondering over Voldemort for god's sake! Once again, Mary Sues are perfectly acceptable under certain circumstances - if they're secondary characters, for example and have at least one major character flaw that prevents them from being with the man they love, example Nuriko, Fushigi Yugi. And of course...if you're laughing at them...

    4) Kind of linked in with the last one... Self insertion This and Mary Sues make my skin crawl...Good fan fiction means a degree of acceptance. You will never be with your favourite character in a non platonic or indeed platonic fashion and if you were, you certainly wouldn't like them like you do now. Self insertions are bad news on so many levels, mainly because the writer character takes their values and own world with them, when the reality is a character from a canon has a very specific set of values. i once read a yugioh self insert, where the author/main character was from Texas, outduelled Seto Kaiba blah blah. It started to get a little creepy about five chapters in when the main Sue, I forget her name now, persuaded Seto to go to a festival in town where music was playing to honour battle city. Anyway, the main char/author's favourite song came on and of course she made Seto dance and enjoy himself, swinging her curvy hips around in the process.

So, what kind of writing can you expect from me? The only answer to that is, you can't. Read my work with an open mind and you will get the best results.
