New Category - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
I submitted a request for a new category, FFVII:AC, and I see that there appears to be something preventing the request from going through. I thought I could clarify here, if it would help.

FFVII is the RPG game. FFVII:AC is an anime, 2 hour CGI movie that was a follow-up set two years after the end of the FFVII RPG. The movie follows Cloud, and many of the same characters from FFVII (including Sephiroth), as well as the inclusion of three new characters: Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo. (It also contains brief cameos by many others from the FFVII game.) It cannot, technically, fit in under FFVII, as it contains three characters that are not in the RPG.

dreamcatchersfic On further review, if it's not discouraged, I see others posting AC fics under FFVII (RPG), and I'm happy to follow along as it keeps everything in the same place.

Ithilwen I think most of the categories follow the "world" idea. Putting AC and FFVII in different categories would be too much like putting Star Wars and Star Wars ROTJ or the Zahn books in different categories.

dreamcatchersfic nod That makes sense. I made sure to label it as AC, and put the inclusion of the brothers upfront in the summary. I definitely like the aspect of all the fics being in the same place, so it's a good call.

It means that there can't be a 'search' function for Kadaj, Loz, or Yazoo but, since the category is small, it doesn't appear to be a problem. Most pairings can be scanned from the summaries.

You're quite right about the "world" view of categories. We don't want to make two separate categories when they'll both be in the same continuity; it'd be very confusing. This is actually why we have an "Anime/Manga" category, instead of two different categories -- there generally aren't enough differences between those versions to warrant two categories. Please don't talk to me about Escaflowne. I prefer not to think about its many conflicting continuities.

I can add a link to the FF7 category in games from either Anime or Movies, I suppose. I'm not sure which is more appropriate.
