KillerQueen I try to, I really do.
But I am probably the most disorganised person in the world :/

Usually I just get an idea for a story (mostly fanfiction)
write it down in my notebook, I do all my rough plotlines in my notebook, write rough drafts of scenes. Then when I'm at my computer (which doesn't actually live with me), I type it up in detail using word, often changing things a bit until I'm happy with it.

Here's a guilty confession though; The one I'm currently working on (which is the one I have posted some of, on here), I actually have no idea how it's going to end yet.
I basically thought it would be fun to do a Sleepy Hollow fic and cross it over with Phantom Of The Opera, But in all fairness I doubt it's going to be anything close to phantom save for a couple of similar quotes or so. So as it is, I'm just winging it right now, seeing how things unfold in my mind when I write and constantly praying for an idea of some big twists or how it will end.

P0isonIvy543 Plotting is the thing to do when you write stories. I always plot when I write mine.

of course.
I'm not talented enough to just write something off the top of my head and make a full story of it simply by random. I can however, make up stories if they are one shots, but that's about it. I don't have that kind of creative thinking to make things up as I go along. I have to plan out the beginning, the fillers, and especially how it's going to end. I don't see how you wouldn't want to plan out your story first. But if you are able to randomly write a story then kudos to you, but i can't do that.
