Ouch!! Man, they really should just leave them alone and let them take care of the final round of "house cleaning" that'll leave the wizarding world with a fair shot at becoming a better place, but those who'd manipulate and coerce the old privileges back into place need removing. I'm not saying what they're doing is right or just, but sometimes it's just best to let a 'force of nature' such as they've become loose to take care of problems that aren't amenable to the tools available to civilized societies.
