/Author\'s Response: how are you dealing with the business of "The Phantom" taking place so many years previous to...well, now?/The short answer is, "I'm not"--it was written for a specific crossover challenge, the terms of which allowed for male characters from different sources to meet at a conference (for the challenge, it was the conference/hotel itself that was the mechanism for the time-travel). It was a fun challenge, not least because it let me mesh two wildly incompatable sources.I'd love to come up with a plausible explanation to insert, to make the fic make more sense on its own (outside of the framework of the challenge), but so far nothing has suggested itself. /Also, your disclaimer is missing./I wasn't aware Ficwad required one./I'm looking forward to seeing more of this. /It's a finished story--there isn't any more. I think to take it farther I'd have to come up with some semi-plausible reason for Gil to be able to time-travel.
