Gerard seems to have totally lost control of himself and handed it to the drugs. The way you make him act actually makes sense - it's like he's being driven by the drugs themselves, not caring about hurting people he actually loves.
Although Bert is supposed to be deep in the drugs, I couldn't help but notice that in the last couple of chapters, he actually is the one who gives shit about people's (Frank's) feelings. His suggestion to let him room with them and then after to go apologize to him makes it all the more better, yet confusing. He's supposed to be the bad guy, but he does things like that and you can't get mad at him...
