G. I. Joe - Steeler's Story

I can tell you spent a lot of time crafting this one. Not my favorite characters, but interesting nonetheless. I always thought Steeler only had a personality for the "Worlds Without End" episodes, and wasn't really given much development otherwise. I like seeing minor characters fleshed out in stories, though. I wish we'd see more of it.

The line about "gender sensitivity training" totally cracked me up. That in itself would make a fine story.

This is definitely a notch up from the other two I've read just in the wording and characterizations. I will read more.

Author\'s Response: I had been working on Steeler's Story for a much longer time than the other pieces that you reviewed. As such, I have much more invested in terms of editing time, revisions and the like.I appreciate you noticing that Steeler's Story is my "next level" place in terms of moving from shorter story compositions to longer serials. I think the lifting up of an underdeveloped character is a superb opportunity to take the one or two character flaws you might see in the official canon and build layers upon them. Maybe there's a hidden reason why Steeler bucks authority on his filecard. Maybe his behavior in "Worlds Without End" merits a change in his attitude as he moves on in his life. Someone like Steeler is a slightly blemished canvas upon which someone could really paint a portrait if they give it enough attention. Thanks for the review! Always appreciated!
