I really enjoyed this little story from Lilin's perspective. Her sense of being an outsider among the humans is very well written. I like how you pepper her thoughts with sea metaphors as well.
Lilin's great pleasure in the things she has learned from the humans is very realistic, as is her embarrassment at her mistakes in dealing with humans.
You do an excellent job of portraying a seaperson experiencing culture shock and you do it in neat and quite lovely language.
