Review for The Bundling Charm
The Bundling Charm

The one thing that I couldn't find was the time-frame. It'd have to be at least sixth year, cause of Luna and Sirius dying, but it also couldn't be- the Weasleys started using Pigwidgeon after Ron got him third year... Confuzzled...
I find myself wishing that it was longer (more chapters)... Maybe? You could do a lot with the idea. By the way, what are the effects of the Bundling Charm, and why is it called that (as opposed to the simplistic nature of other spell names)?
Good work!

Author's response
I was thinking that Pigwidgeon was Ron's, and that Mrs. Weasley had kept on using Errol, at least during the school year. Sorry about that--I suppose that's what I get for not checking back to the books.
It's probably Sixth Year; could be an alternate Seventh, also, I suppose.

Thanks! I'm afraid I'm not very good at long fics.
By the way, what are the effects of the Bundling Charm,
About like it's described, really. It's sort of like the charms that hide things by making one think of something else one apparently needs to do. IOW, sex sounds like an very nice thing that you would very much enjoy at some other time, just like taking out your broom for a flight once it's spring, and isn't that a lovely nightshirt Hermione's wearing, and oh my! Luna's adorable and couldn't you just watch her sleep for hours?
and why is it called that (as opposed to the simplistic nature of other spell names)?
Bundling is an old custom that used to be practised in New England; supposedly it originated somewhere in England before that. Because there wasn't much opportunity for courting couples to talk in private, they'd be put to bed together. Fully dressed, of course, and usually with some sort of device to make it difficult for things to get out of hand--a "bundling board" between them, or the young man sewn into a sack, possibly with his hands bound behind his back besides.
The Bundling Charm is a more effective, not to mention pleasant, equivalent to a board or a sack. It used to be quite commonly used in Wizarding households--in Mrs. Weasley's grandmother's day, it's more than likely that Harry would've been put to bed with Ginny and a Bundling Charm in the opening chapters of GoF, if not earlier.
Good work!
