The interaction is spot on! The awkwardness is there, and Baralai's unyielding cuteness (yes, yes, I know) is right there. I can't help but to think that his manner of picking up Isaaru is absolutely adorable. This chapter may be my favourite of everything you've written.
Again, the dialogue is excellent. Baralai's internal monologue is very good too, especially in the questioning about the purity of the Summoners, as well as his enjoyment of the name Isaaru. It IS a very nice name.
And Gippal... really, he's as you say it: "Gippal is... Gippal, I suppose." His shout at the end is a fantastic touch -- I love it!
