Though it doesn't have as much to do with this chapter there is a common current - in this work and your other HP fics - about the supposed backwardness of England and Europe in its social systems (particularly politics, race- and classism, and celebrity worship/demonization) versus the rest of the world, particularly North America and Australia; a point of view that seems to miss the point of those particular themes and the way they're presented in the first place.

The way the wizards behave in England and Europe is pretty much the way people behave everywhere. It's not tradition or social mores making them act that way, it's human nature, and that's not going to change just by flying across an ocean. Suggesting otherwise seems more than a little disingenious.
