I truly love Gudrun. She's so disagreeable that she's loveable, wanting her father to stab Amarant again just for her own amusement.

The anger jealousy and hate between Fratley and Amarant is thick enough to be cut with a knife. And Fratley is really messed up in the head too I think, in delicious ways. He's so damned cheerful and happy even when he's threatening Amarant that he must just be slightly off his rocker.

It's lovely the way you write it though, so beautifully understated the madness of all of the characters. That's the way people actually are sometimes, all of us just slightly off-kilter. Who is completely sane after all?
