k that was good but at the end suddenly the author was alien yet he was hearing alien talk when the translator wasn't working. kinda confused me.

Well, naturally, the narrator would be hearing something "alien." It just so happens we already translated the narrator's thoughts and words into English for the benefit of Earthling readers. :D
