Review for To the Rescue
To the Rescue

I've read much of your work either here or on schnoogle but this has been the first time that I've been able to review. (I can't see and so schnoogle's site and software are not fully accessible given the browser that I must use). I enjoy your work greatly and like many of the characters but have sometimes been frustrated by the fact that you work around the limitations of the power structure as JK Rowling has set it in the ways that you do.
Obviously you have a North American bias and I understand this, though I havealways disagreed with my fellow Americans on this as our culture (muggle purely) seems far less able to integrate 'magic' than does that of Western Europe. However, that is an opinion and I'm aware of it. My concer is that you set up a structure that allows the exact parts of the system that don't work in JK Rowling's works to be overridden far too easily and so generate political solutions that make things too simple. They also keep Harry from having to face some of the challenges that he has not choice but to deal with in her books and (which if they were more adult oriented, would be far greater than they are as is).
I also wonder at the levels of education that you give some of your characters, particularly Tabitha. Having graduated from one of the schools that you say she went to and knowing the demands that it places on its students, I seriously wonder whether she could achieve several other qualifications at the same time without a time-turner and even then it would be very difficult. Please note that my objections are only in the details but as you know, particularly in a work of this length, the details are what help to shape 'reality'. I know that you will continue to write and I will most definitely continue to read but do ask that you as you work forward you hold some of these things in mind.
Whether you do or not, you work has been, is and will be greatly appreciated and I shall continue to look forward to reading it at every opportunity.
