Chapter Five: We Are Looking Back Again, On Loneliness And Pain…

Breath Slowly In And Out, Somewhere Behind The Clouds, I Can See The Morning Break…
~Tokio Hotel

William stopped the car and turned it off as we pulled up to my apartment.

He got out and came around to my side, opening the door for me and helping me out.

We held hands as he walked me to the door.

“Thanks for an amazing night.”I said.

He smiled.

“Your welcome. It was great for me too.”He said.

I smiled.

“Well, I believe I should bid you adieu.”He said, bowing slightly.

I giggled.

“Yeah, it’s late.”I said.

I watched him begin to turn away.

“Oh, but first…”He said, turning back to me.

“Hmm?”I said.

He smiled and put his arms around my waist, pulling me to him and kissing me gently, sweetly. My mind was reeling.

“Pete’s instructions.”He whispered against my lips as we pulled away.

“Oh.”I said.

“But I felt like it anyway.”He whispered.

I smiled and blushed.

“Goodnight Kelsi.”He said, smiling.

“Goodnight William.”I said, longing to ask him to come inside.

“May I come inside?”He asked softly, as if he read my mind.

“Yes.”I said, without thinking.

I unlocked the door and we walked in.

A light came on and we both froze in the doorway.

“Kelsi, tell me everything, did he make the first move, did y—?”Jessica said, stopping when she saw him standing behind me.

I gave her a look that said ‘Go to bed, I’ll tell you everything tomorrow!’

She hesitated but nodded.

“Goodnight Kels, William.”She said, a smile playing on her lips.

“’Night.”We both said.

She gave us a small wave and ran to her bedroom, no doubt Patrick was in there.

William laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck and I sighed.

We looked at each other and smiled.

“So, um, want something to drink?”I said, as we walked into the living room. “I’ve got beer, vodka, water, soda, tea, coffee…”I said.

“Coffee’s fine.”He said, sitting down and getting comfortable.

I nodded and went into the kitchen nook.

I glanced at him as I made the coffee. I saw him get up and look at the pictures around my living room. He was sooo gorgeous.

“Did you paint this?”He said, pointing to the Chicago skyline portrait.

“Yeah.”I said, blushing.

He smiled. “It’s beautiful. How did you get that high, if you don’t mind me asking.”He said.

“Oh, not at all. I sometimes go to the top of the Sears building and sit up there, to think or paint, or write…or take pictures. I’m also a photographer.”I said, coming into the living room.

“That’s amazing.”He said, sincerely.

I smiled and gave him his coffee as we sat on the couch.

“What do you write?”He said.

“I write songs, stories, poetry…things like that.”I said.

“What are they about?”He said.

“Um, life, breakups, love, death, happiness, sadness…I occaisionally get them published.”I said.

He nodded.

We sat there, drinking our coffee.

“Hey, Kelsi?”He said.

“Hmm?”I said, looking at him.

“Can, I, uh, try something?”He said, nervously, setting down his coffee cup.

“What?”I said, softly, setting down my cup as well.

“This.”He whispered, before gently kissing my lips.

I let out a small sigh and felt the corners of his lips turn up.

I was putty in his gentle hands as he put his arms around me.

“Hmm…”I sighed as I slowly put my arms around his neck.

“Don’t be so greedy, a dollar’s a penny to you-ah…”

William sighed and pulled away. “What is it?”I said.

“My phone.”He mumbled, with a ‘Sorry’ look on his face.

I sighed and scratched my head.

He looked at me, then at his phone.

“You know what? They’ll just have to wait.”He said, turning off his phone and taking me into his arms again and kissing me.
