Obliteration

Bang goes the gun
As the bullets wiz by
Fighting for your life
Hoping you don’t die
Crash goes the building
As it falls to the ground
All the land broken and dead
Bodies falling without sound
Blood flows from all those who had tread
Landmines buried
Gases choking
Everything burning
There is no hope
There is no stopping
War tears a hole in the hearts of the peaceful
No recovery and no remorse
Anger and rage are its driving force
Nothing can stop it now

But one thing could have prevented it
A simple eraser killed that chance
The chance at peace rubbed away

Rub, rub, rub goes the little fiend
Rubbing all the thoughts away
Leaving a path to show what was slain
Cleaning the page of all its wonder
Demolishing the words as if they were a blunder
Making the slate blank and barren
A mistake taker
An idea displacer
Ripping the purity out of the thought
Making them all be lost
Never again can those things be recovered
Those thoughts and feelings forever gone
The eraser marks can never be undone
There is no undo
There is no restore
The chance you had vanished
Nothing can give it back
All of those things are gone forevermore
