Chaos theory; a nargle flaps its wings in China, and Luna responds differently to Harry during their conversation before the leaving feast.. AU starting near the end of OoTP. Harry/Luna/Hermione. N...
(#) jump_jives 2008-10-12 12:57:50 PMThat was a very nice chapter. I just began reading this story this week and in one night caught up with everything. Its sad really because I had been planning to wait until the story was finished, but I decided to take a peak after some comments on one of the mailing lists and found I couldn't really 'put it down.' Now I am going to have to wait patiently from chapter to chapter (which is why I had been avoiding starting the story).
As for the story itself, you are doing a very nice job of moving it the along at a slow enough pace that the relationships don't seem to come from nowhere. Additionally, it is well written with a lot of humor. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Author's responseHi Jump Jives, and welcome to the story.
I can feel where you are coming from with wanting to wait for a story to be complete before starting it.. I used to do exactly the same thing - with the same outcome.
I appreciate the feedback, but I'm curious about which mailing list you've been reading. As far as I know, none of the lists I'm on have been discussing the story in the last week. I'd like to join in whichever one it is.
- I have to disagree with the first review a bit; I think Luna will have to do some very fast talking if Harry and the others aren't to think Harry alternating dating her and Hermione isn't coing out of nowhere -- we can see it, Hermione can see it, I doubt anyone else could. Granted, we can also see a likely end resault, one as Lady Black, the other as Lady Potter, but that's still a bit further away
Other than that, great chapter!
Author's responseHeh heh.. well, I never said it was going to be easy for them.
On the other hand, I'm not too sure which of the others might see him dating Hermione as coming out of nowhere. Tonks knows courtesy of her peak into Harry's head., and Luna already gave her dad a head's up. Tonks already clued Minerva in during their late night chat that probably the only reason other girls left him alone was because they thought Hermione had already staked a claim. Moody has a magical eye and with his constant vigilence would have observed Harry's body language around Hermione, and Remus has his werewolf senses to pick up Harry's reactions to her as well, not to mention has probably been clued in by Sirius since Christmas. The Grangers have already had a conversation about it the night the order visited them.
I guess I'm hoping that by this stage, the adults around them will understand him dating Hermione, and at this stage, the plan is just to give H/Hr some equal time so the three can work things out & come up wth an answer on Sunday.
I'm predicting gang aft agley!
make that 'peek' not 'peak'
(#) whatareyouevensaying 2008-10-12 05:12:20 PMOnly the eventual multi-pairing can possibly keep Luna's idea from being utterly atrocious. Too much baggage for Harry to handle being with Hermione otherwise. Even as things are he'll have trouble accepting it.
Very good update. I especially liked Harry getting knocked out the Muggle way. It's a nice reminder of what's in store for him when the summer ends.
Looking forward to more.
(#) Wonderbee31 2008-10-12 06:30:12 PMVery good part. I liked that Harry isn't the super-wizard of some fanfics, and that he can get knocked out, but good to see cheerful Tonks, and to see that she can kick butt too. I don't see right now how you're going to have them all three get together, it seems more likely that Harry would walk away from both to spare their feelings given how down on himself he can be.
I'm a sucker for H/Hr, so I boggle a bit at the idea of Luna but the scenario is odd enough to keep me off balance. The concept of an escape to the wilds of Sweden for training and being out of the mainstream for the summer is quite refreshing.
Keep going, I'm hooked. You write it; I'll read it!
Thanks, Old Chuck
