They Live In Different Worlds....ending
0 ReviewsSorry for breaking this series up into different stories, but they were too removed. Anyway, a short and sweet end to the story.
breath in front of him, appearing in big clouds of steam. He walked into the nearest Starbucks for a coffee. He needed something to warm him up. His frozen
hands stretched out to open the door.
As he walked into the shop, he felt the gentle warmth come over him. The strong aroma of the coffee was all around the room, filling his nostrils with the
pleasant smell. There was a few people in there, casually chatting with friends or sipping on a hot beverage. He walked up to the counter and ordered. He
fumbled around with some sugar packets while he was waiting. Somebody lined up behind him so he slided out of the way, coffee stirrer in hand.
"Number 22" The server called. Axl grabbed his drink from him and sat down on the nearest chair. He slided into a comfortable position, and took a sip of his
coffee. He picked up a random magazine and started reading for a bit.
After about five minutes, Axl looked up from his magazine. He could only hear the chatter of the other customers, but he could feel someone walking up behind
him. He slowly put down his magazine and turned his head. A childlike smile appeared on his face.
"Hey" He said. For the first time in a long time, his voice sounded cheerful. He wasn't even surprised to see the figure standing beside him, it was like he
knew he was there the moment he walked into the cafe.
"Hey" Slash smiled back. He walked over to the chair on the opposite side of the table and sat down. "Long time no see." He said.
Axl chuckled. He stared into Slash's eyes, remembering all of the amazing times they shared. Ever since Axl had that dream, he felt connected to Slash in an
undescribable way. The first few days, he tried fighting it. He wanted to forget Slash in every way. But after a while it just got stronger. He couldn't
fight it anymore, he gave into the thoughts. Surprisingly, he didn't feel bad. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders, like he had
been set free from a life sentence. It was the greatest thing he had felt in a long time.
"So" Slash started. "You're not pissed at me?"
"Nope." Axl responded. "And I know it's gunna sound a bit weird but...it's because of a dream I had about you"
"A dream? I had one about you aswell." Slash sounded surprised to hear that Axl had a dream too. He had had a dream about Axl around two weeks ago, and it
hadn't left his mind since.
"That's kinda creepy. When did you have yours?" Axl asked.
"About two weeks ago"
"Ok that's even more creepy." Axl said.
"Was yours the one with all of the sunshine and shit?" Slash asked.
"Uhhh...no. It was in a pitch black room. And I thought I was going to die." Axl responded.
"Woah. We had completely different dreams then...but they were the same. But I remember that afterwards, You and me felt really, like-"
"Connected" They both said in unison. They looked at each other, their eyebrows lowered.
"Yeah" Slash laughed "That."
Axl smiled. Seeing Slash laugh made him feel all warm inside. He missed those incredibly deep brown eyes looking at him, gazing into his soul. His head
drooped down.
"What's wrong?" Slash asked him, appearing to be genuinely concerned.
"Nothing...just..." Axl took a deep breath. "I know you have to find another singer and all that...but seeing you with another singer makes me want to
cringe. They are not good enough, you know...."
Slash chuckled to himself. "Axe, what is that supposed to mean?"
"I remember you telling me that I was the only singer that you felt right with....and I believed that. I feel kinda stupid about it...."
"Who's to say that's not still true?" Slash interjected.
"Well..." Axl was kind of stunned that he said that. "The fact that you had a different singer who you seemed to get along with pretty well"
"Seemed is the key word there. I wanted it to look like we were on great terms all of the time, otherwise the fans would be worried. It doesn't mean I
connected with him."
Axl was a bit confused. He thought Slash had a great thing with Scott. It opened his mind to a whole bunch of thoughts.
"That dream I had was the confirmation I needed." Slash said. "I know now that you're the one."
"The one?"
"Yep. The one that I can relate to the most."
"Relate to the most?" Axl realised that he had just repeated both of the things that Slash had said.
Polly want a fucking cracker? he thought to himself.
"Uhh...yeah." Slash said, slowly. "Anyway, do you think it would be possible for you to forgive me for the crap I've said about you?"
"Only if you forgive me." Axl said, smiling.
Slash smiled back, and took a sip of his coffee.
