9 ReviewsThe Bitch Went Nuts - Ben Folds
Patrick only grunted in reason, shifting his weight and Joe’s from on foot to the other as they stood at an intersection, there we no cars here.
No cars, no birds, no life.
Just two barely of age adults standing alone as the sun slowly slide down the horizon. Tabatha plopped down on the ground, playing with the dirt and gravel.
Patrick stared at her with blank eyes and threw Joe to the ground and sat down as well. Staring out at the horizon, and blown up buildings.
They were quiet, only their breathing broke the silence and even that was hardly noticeable.
Tabatha cleared her throat, breaking the silence, “Did you know that Monday is the most preferential day for self-obliteration?”
“Is today Monday?” Patrick asked bitingly.
Tabatha didn’t hear the tone and answered, “I’m not sure wh—”
“Well then, tell me on a day that I think I'll care.” Patrick’s voice was so acerbic that Aubrey looked up at him, fearfully, reaching out and taking his hand,
“You can’t say that, Patrick. Please, don’t I—”
“It was a joke, Aubrey.” Patrick said taking his hand from her grip, “We’ve had enough of a break; it’s time to get going.”
“Go where?” Tabatha asked quietly, and then continued on into a louder voice, “Where Patrick? We’ve got nothing here. Nothing. We don’t even have each other. You’ve changed.” She glared at him accusingly, “You’re practically one of them,” She nodded her head in no particular direction but Patrick caught her drift, “Following PJ like that? Who the hell do you think you are?”
"Shut up Tabatha," Aubrey muttered, exasperated.
“I’m her family too,” Patrick said derisively, “More so than I am with you anyway.”
“That’s bullshit,” Tabatha said angrily, “PJ is not your family, Patrick. I am and Aubrey is and Joe is. As soon as we’ve got enough supplies, we're leaving that psychotic bitch and heading out.”
“Heading out?” Patrick laughed harshly, “Where? You just can’t pack up and leave! You can’t get left behind for fifteen minutes, Look where we fucking are! What about Pete, huh? What about him?”
“He’s so fucking afraid to hurt her.”
“Why do you want her dead!” Patrick screamed out in frustration, he didn’t care about why she wanted to leave, forget that. So what if they leave, so what if they get lost. Why the hell does Tabatha, his only sister, hate the only person whose shown him the slightest bit of credit lately.
Of course she’s psychotic, of course she always seems to be a second away from murdering everyone within a fifty mile radius.
But why, why, does Tabatha hate her? When there is so much more to PJ, so much leadership, so much power.
“Why should I not hate her?” Tabatha said shaking slightly, “What has she done to me since childhood.”
Patrick furrowed his eyebrows in frustration, not knowing what to say, just feeling a build in his chest, wondering when he would just kill Tabatha himself, and just when her shit answers would be enough to push him over the edge.
Tabatha, after a few minutes, answered her own originally rhetorical question, “She’s stolen every fucking thing from me. Stolen it without regard. Everything I have, she wants.”
“Is that what this is all about? Jealousy! Tabatha, grow the fuck up! You know why that stuff was given to her,” Patrick growled, “She almost died.”
“Well good fucking riddance!” Tabatha yelled, jumping to her feet, “If only she had drowned. It would’ve been just a few more seconds under the water, just a few more—”
“Tabatha what the hell are you talking about,” Patrick’s eyes were accusing, angry. His restraint slipping away from him.
“What do you think I’m saying, Patrick?” Tabatha snarled, “What the fuck do you think I’m saying?”
"Oh my God," Aubrey gasped, catching on.
“I wasn’t Pete…it was…You…you…” Patrick stuttered. Every insulting name he came up with wasn’t bad enough for her. Wasn’t nearly enough to describe her.
She smiled at him.
“You’ve always hated her.” Patrick said more to himself, backing away, grabbing Aubrey's hand. “You’ve always fucking hated her.”
Patrick kept stepping backwards, away from Tabatha. Eventually turning back to the front and sprinting away with every amount of energy that he had left, dragging Aubrey along with him.
Everyone is going insane.

ok so regarding reviews:
ficwad appears to have a personal vendetta against me and doesn't like it when I answer them in this little section after a chappy here. I just noticed today that it only showed my answer to caro's review from the last chapter. so I am now officially responding again by the button :|
I went back and answered reviews left on ch. 008 and ch. 009, just so you know. and when I post another chapter, it is a guarantee I have answered all reviews from last chapter.
And by the way, thank you all so much for them. They make my day and keep me going. You are all so sweet to me, I couldn't ask for a better batch of kids :D
I love you all.
