“You sure like that spot. What are you thinking about?” Naruto asked as he leaned against the wall next to the window.
“You,” Sasuke answered honestly as he removed his dark bangs from his face. “You are all that’s on my mind.”
Naruto blushed madly, “Don’t say that!”
“I’m sorry,” Sasuke apologized. “It's getting late. Where am I going to sleep?”
He looked around, “I don’t know. I’ve never had anyone over.”
Sasuke laughed and jumped on Naruto’s bed, “I like it here!”
“What?!” Naruto screamed. “That’s my bed! You can’t take my bed!”
“I’m not taking it,” Sasuke clarified, placing his head on the soft pillow. “I’m just going to sleep next to you.”
Naruto blushed madly, “With you?! No way!” he screamed. “I prefer sleeping on the couch!”
And he did. While Sasuke accommodated himself on the comforts of Naruto’s bed, the “generous” blonde boy slept in the hard small couch. The lights were out and it was already somewhat late, but the boys couldn’t sleep at all.
Maybe it was the discomfort of a foreign rest place or the annoying thought that kept rummaging their mind and constantly reminding them that this time, they weren’t alone. For the first time in many months, if something were to happen in the middle of the night, they would have someone to comfort them right there.
“Naruto, are you asleep?” Sasuke suddenly asked, hoping his friend would also be awake.
“Yeah,” Naruto answered sarcastically. He was hiding under the sheets until he heard Sasuke’s cold voice. For some seconds, he was scared, scared that something bad was happening to Sasuke. “I can’t sleep.”
“Me neither…” Sasuke said slowly.
Naruto sat up in the couch, his sheet still covering his body, and simply watched the darkness that enfolded his room. The tension was so thick Naruto felt like locking himself in the bathroom and just staying there all night.
When he was about to develop his plan, a warm entity barely touched his body. Right next to him, he could feel Sasuke’s warmth covering him, making Naruto feel weak. Next thing he noticed was his body moving towards his friend’s and slowly letting itself be consumed by the tenderness Sasuke’s body offered.
“I thought the tonight I would be able to sleep for the first time in years,” Sasuke commented. “But I guess I was wrong.”
Naruto tried to look at Sasuke’s face, but it was too dark so he simply wrapped his arms around the boy’s torso. “Insomnia?” he questioned.
“Yeah, ever since that night I have barely slept. I think I’m afraid that something might happen when I’m asleep. That maybe he will come back,” Sasuke explained. “After all, he said he would come back.”
“If he does come back, he won’t find you,” Naruto suddenly said after some seconds of silence. “If you are here with me that won’t happen.”
Sasuke smiled, “You are right…”
Naruto accommodated his head on Sasuke’s chest. His essence felt very nice and the blond boy was enjoying it. For a second he felt like kissing Sasuke’s lips again, but he couldn’t, after all he was one-hundred percent sure he wasn’t gay.
“Naruto, I know you said you didn’t want to talk about this but I was still wondering if we could talk about what happened,” Sasuke began.
“Me too,” Naruto said. “I think it was just an impulse…”
“Huh?” Sasuke tried to look at Naruto, but the darkness was severe and he could barely make out his outline wrapped around his torso.
“Yeah, I really don’t know what was going through my mind at that moment. It’s just that you kissed me and it felt kind of good so I wanted to try it again but,” Naruto stayed silent and just let his eyes wonder around the darkness.
“But…” Sasuke said, trying to get Naruto to continue with his speech.
“I really don’t know anything!” he suddenly screamed, pushing himself away from Sasuke.
“Naruto,” Sasuke said then. “I wasn’t honest with you back then.”
“What do you mean?”
Sasuke smiled and looked to the direction, opposite from where Naruto sat. “I do feel that way towards you.”
