Hi. I am sorry I suck and I am sorry this is so fucking short. I am trying to move the plot along faster so idk that might mean shorter chapters.

But goddamn, I love you guys. You mean the world to me.

Anyway, I hope this ok:

-----------------------------------------------

The duo emerged from the alleyway breathing hard and slowing their pace down to a walk.

“She’s…lost it…completely insane…” Patrick panted. Aubrey bent down and rested her hands on her knees.

“Where’d did it all go wrong?” She asked, staring at the ground. Patrick didn’t answer. Aubrey tried again.

“What now?”

“AY YOU!”

The two jumped at the yell and Patrick immediately took a stance in front of Aubrey.

“PAY UP YOU MANGY KIDS!” An old, disfigured man with a scraggly graying beard stalked over to them.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Patrick asked, growing anxious.

“I think he’s dillusional…” Aubrey whispered from behind him, eyes wide.

“Either your old man pays...or you and ya boyfriend pay!” The man grinned, showing his blackened teeth.

“You want money, go around the corner, down the street, and take a left. I hear there's a place down there where you two could give blow jobs for 5 bucks a pop!” She snarled.

Suddenly the man smashed her around the face with a back hand. “You always were a mouthy bitch!” He went for her again but his arm was grabbed.

The man yelled in pain as Patrick forced him downward.. “You really should have done that!” He grinned sadistically and raised his fist.

The tall man was blasted backwards straight into a wall, where he slumped down, out cold.

“PATRICK!” Aubrey yelled. “I told you not to!”

“He hit you!”

“You think I've never been hit before?! We need to get out of here, come on.” Aubrey yanked his hand and the two began cautiously down a new alley.

It was strange how something new could feel so familiar.

I spy with my little eye.

The old red car.

The same old red car that had been across town next to the Facility.

“AUBREY!”

As he finished the last letter of her name, the sound of metal bullets rained down on them. Something sharp and burning hot hit him in the back. He was blasted forwards as if being hit by a truck. He convulsed uncontrollably as electric shocks pulsed through his body. It felt like a giant fist was squeezing his insides.

He convulsed violently as thousands of volts poured through his veins. The shocked stopped for a heartbeat and he was able roll over, just in time to see Aubrey fall to the cold concrete, still.

Patrick summoned all of his strength and managed to pull the tiny metal electrodes from is back. His world still dizzy and out of joint, he attempted to pick himself up but the pain in his stomach shattered his strength instantly and brought him back to his knees. His vision was burred, almost like drunkenness.

And seeing her like that. The one he loved more than anything else in this world, the rage returned.

The pain from his wounds was gone, replaced by something more powerful than adrenaline. His vision focused as he climbed to his feet.

Knowing the metal bullets were nothing to a nuisance to his vampire form, he rushed through them towards Aubrey. They stung, but he kept moving.

He swept her up and ran. Up and down alleys, in and out back doors, losing the gunners and his sense of reality.

The street was suddenly eerily quiet again. Except for the sound of the river next to him and the distant sound of police sirens drawing closer, there was nothing.

The pain in his stomach returned with a vengeance causing Patrick to fall to his knees.
“This wasn't supposed to happen!” He cried as tears washed down his face.

How could anyone destroy something so beautiful? All their moments together suddenly started flowing back to him. Her smile. Her tears. Her leaving. Their kiss. Their love.

“SOMEBODY HELP ME!” He cried at the top of his lungs. In the distance the sirens were getting nearer but closer than that he could hear foot steps.

“PLEASE!” He looked down at his shattered angel. “It wasn't supposed to be this way! I suppose to save you!”

He failed her. He had forgotten his oath to protect her no matter what the cost.

“Please don't leave me now! I love you!” His tears fell onto her face but she didn't move. “Please Aubrey! I love you!”
