When I came to, the first thing I noticed was that I was strapped to a dead tree.
I then took in the scene around me. I saw four men.
The first had bright red hair and a sad expression. He wasn't looking at me. I realized that he had been the one who knocked me out. This should have immediately made him unlikable, but instead I felt some other emotion that I didn't understand.
The one sitting next to him had brown, frizzy hair and an eye patch. He was looking at me and seemed sympathetic, so I decided I liked him.
There was one in the back, staring at the fire. I couldn't see his face because it was entirely obscured by a yellow helmet that read "GOOD LUCK."
The fourth had shoulder-length black hair and was holding a ray gun to my head.
"Uhh...," I said to the one who was about to shoot me.
"Shut up, drac!" he hissed.
"What the fuck is a drac?" I asked, forgetting that he would probably shoot me for being a smartass. Unfortunately, it's really hard for me to not be a smartass.
The one with the eye patch sighed. "He means a draculoid."
"Okay, so what is that? Some kind of vampire robot?" I was telling the truth. I have no idea why they think I'm a vampire robot, but I'm 100% human.
"A draculoid...? They work for BLI...?" Eye Patch Man said.
"Okay, now what's a BLI?" I asked. I knew that I sounded like a dumb blonde at this point, but seriously? BLI sounds like some kind of sandwich. I had a brief mental flash of Black-Haired Trigger-Happy Guy going into a restaurant and asking for a BLI.
"Oh my God, you idiot, don't fucking play dumb with me!" Trigger-Happy said.
"But I don't fucking know!!" I cried. "I don't understand why you think I'm a robot vampire who works for a sandwich!"
"That's it!" Trigger-Happy had made up his mind. He was going to shoot me and I was going to die. Juuuust great.
"Fun Ghoul, stop it!" shrieked Red Hair, leaping up to knock Trigger-Happy's gun out of his hand.
I couldn't help myself. "Fun Ghoul? Your name is Fun Ghoul? What the fuck is wrong with you people?" Then I realized that neither Fun Ghoul nor Red Hair were listening to me. They were arguing.
"She's a fucking drac, Party Poison! We need to kill her! I don't know why you didn't kill her from the moment you saw her!" Fun Ghoul ranted. I guess Red Hair's name was...Party Poison. All these people have fucking stupid names.
Party Poison looked about to explode, but he couldn't think of anything to say. He opened his mouth, then closed it, his face turning as red as his hair.
Party Poison's POV:
"Fun Ghoul, stop it!" I yelled without thinking, jumping him.
I was vaguely aware of her saying something, but all I could think was, She can't die. No way. Not now.
"She's a fucking drac, Party Poison! We need to kill her! I don't know why you didn't kill her from the moment you saw her!" Ghoul was screaming at me. Why didn't I kill her? I tried to answer, but I found that I didn't know either.
"Well I think the only way to settle this is to put it to a democratic vote," Kobra Kid murmured.
Okay then. Jet went first. "I think there's no reason to kill her. She doesn't know BLI. She might be playing dumb, but I think until we know for sure, we should keep her around."
"Okay, so one vote for not killing me," the girl muttered to herself.
Ghoul went next. "She's an unknown risk we can't afford to take," he said adamantly. "She was seen with this gun." He held up her ray gun. "It's the same kind as dracs use. She is obviously associated with BLI in some way. She must be destroyed."
"But I told you, I don't know any BLI!" she cried. I felt sorry for her.
"I have to agree with Ghoul on this one," Kobra said. He sounded sorry that he did. "She's a risk we can't afford to take."
The girl was beyond words, letting out a wail of despair.
She was so helpless and confused. We couldn't kill her. We didn't know she was a villain, and I could never forgive myself if I let an innocent die. "I agree with Jet," I heard myself say.
Her head snapped up and she looked at me with incredulity. I felt myself blushing.
What the fuck?
"Wait. We're tied," Jet said, snapping me out of it.
"What do you do now?" the girl asked timidly, like she didn't really want to know.
"We call out our tiebreaker," Ghoul said grumpily. "Grace!"
