Sonnet for school. I don't want to make anybody feel bad, but I want this to be evoking. English sonnet, not Italian. One-shot. Review before Wednesday.

They laid around me, still and cold. Their faces
appeared calm and peaceful, but were twisted
in fear in past events. Fires filled the spaces
surrounding the ground and rubble, lighted
by a plane's fuel, making walking a
hazard. My insides bloom in numbing fear,
as people cry out and shriek frantic 'hey''s,
but it's as if nobody seems to hear.

Nearly ten years after, and being made
are mistakes, same as that day. People lost
those memories, as fear begins a fade...
Friends and families, away they are tossed.
As the night fell on that fateful night's eve,
I cried goodbye to those with their hushed leave.
