Chapter 23
On the Way to Freedom
“Taro, tell me something”
“Yes?”
“What have you heard on the intruder?”
“You mean the Soul Reaper by the name Ichigo Kurosaki?”
“Yes”
“Well I heard that he's still training but still thinking about invading ever since finding out about his friends kidnapping. Aizen thinks he's going be here in about a day or so. He's going to call upon the help of an exile Soul Reaper.”
“Good. Thank you”
Taro and I found Orihime’s room in no time at all. Ulquiorra was standing outside of the door.
“Ulquiorra let me in please. Just for a sec”
He looked at me with his cold stare and then opened the door.
I stepped inside and walked right over to Orihime. I crouched down in front of her and started whispering, making sure the connection between me and Grimmjow was blocked
“Orihime, listen. I don't have much time to explain. I am going to leave this place ok? I'm sorry I can't take you with me. That’s Ichigo’s job.”
Orihime nodded
“Ok, Ichigo is coming for you.”
“Where are you going?”
I smiled
“I have to purify my soul”
“What?”
“You remember your brother? How he used Ichigo’s sword to send himself to the Soul Society?”
“Yes…”
“Well that what I'm going to do”
“But Kurono! That means…”
“I know what it means. But do you think that the Soul Society will thank me with open arms for helping Ichigo? No they wont. They would kill before I could open my mouth. I have to become one of them, it’s the only way.”
Orihime nodded
“Well, cya later Orihime, and don't tell anyone what I've told you. Ok?”
she nodded again and started crying
“Don't cry, you’ll see me again I swear”
she smiled and gave me a hug
“Be careful”
“You too”
I turned and walked out. I left with Taro without a word to Ulquiorra. I was headed for the hallway that I thought no could find me. I turned right and almost ran right into Gin
“Gin-sama, I'm sorry”
“Oh Kurono, I was just on my way to get you”
I cocked my head
“Why?”
“I have to tell you the truth. I just can't keep it from you. May I talk to you alone?”
“Yes. Taro, go on ahead meet me by the main hallway that leads outside”
Taro nodded and walked forward out of sight
“What is it?”
“Aizen… he's been playing you”
“What?”
“It was all his plan. He loves how people react to certain things. He was so interested in the bond between you and your sister that he couldn't help but throw in a little… problems…”
“Gin… what are you getting at?”
“All of it, the niceness, the care… the love. It was all fake, something for Aizen to study”
Gin smiled at me as it slammed into me
“Oh no… Oh noo… you're lying…”
“He told Grimmjow to say those things Kurono, so you’d get attached”
I felt so dizzy that I had to sit down
Oh god oh god…
“You're lying…”
“I have no reason to lie. I am tired of this game. Aizen has had his fun and no longer cares what happens to you.”
“So all of it, the kiss, the… it was all… an act?”
Gin nodded
Aizen will die for this… and so will Grimmjow…don’t ever screw with a girls emotions…you’ll wind up dead…
I leapt up and ran down the hall back to Grimmjow, hate and anger running circles in my brain. I couldn’t understand what it ment. Grimmjow didn’t really love me? It was all an act? I didn’t know what I was going to do but I had to do something. I had no control over my feelings and actions. I stopped in the doorway of the room, staring. Grimmjow stood suddenly off the bed
“Kurono?”
Then I completely snapped
“It was a lie!”
Confusion passed over his face and stuck
“What?”
“YOU! You were the lie! It was all an act set up by Aizen!”
“What are you talking about?!”
“I'm not your toy! Darn it, it was all forced wasn’t? you think you can just play with me like I'm stupid? You don’t want me! You just want the attention!”
“Kurono what are you going on about?”
“The way you acted, the kiss, the feelings… all a lie”
“No…”
“STOP WITH THE LIES!!!”
I slammed my fist into the doorpost, making Grimmjow’s look change from confusion to guit and anger.
“Aizen told me to. It started out that way but…”
“But what? The feelings became real? Yeah right! All of this” I spread my arms “all of it was a play by Aizen! And you…” I pointed at Grimmjow “You were the main actor!”
“Kurono…”
“Don’t Kurono me! All I needed was some one I could depend one… some one I could trust. My sister failed, Arashi failed, Aizen failed…you… you failed me!”
Tears were now running down my face and my mind was racing
“They all failed! All I needed was… SOME ONE TO LOVE ME AND STAY WITH ME!!! Im tired of every one leaving me just because I’m broken…”
I couldn’t take it anymore. My mind was going so fast I had no idea what I was saying
“I killed my parents, I drove my sister away, Ichigo didn’t even come here to save me… just Orihime… every one has given up on me because I’m broken…”
I turned and ran down the hallway. Grimmjow ran after me
“Kurono! Wait…”
But I flash stepped away into the darkness.
I eventually found the hallway and Taro was waiting at the main door
“Lady Kurono?”
“Don’t let anyone follow me. If I don’t come back in a few hours then leave. Don’t come after me. I have to Purify my soul”
“But..”
I wipped tears away
“No buts! Promise me… please?”
“I promise”
Good…
I walked outside and started walking out into the sand. I stopped when Los Noches was about 3 miles away. I stuck out my hand and pushed all my Spiritual Pressure into it. I closed my eyes and thought of a Garganta. Suddenly I heard a ripping noise and I smiled to myself, taking a step inside.
Jeez… I had another complete meltdown… but I was right. I am broken. Even Tenshi says I am. Before this I was just an empty shell that was barely glued back together… Arashi tried to fix me, but he failed. Grimmjow acted like he was trying… I'm just too broken…
I flash stepped until I came to Karakura Town. I closed the portal behind me and looked around. In front of me was Kisuke’s little candy store, tucked away into the silent night. Kisuke is after all the only exile Soul Reaper that I know whould have the ability of getting into Hueco Mundo. It had only been about three days since I had been here in the human world. Days and nights run together in Hueco Mundo. I sat by the sliding door and sighed. The door slid open and I peeked to my left to see Kisuke standing there, cane in his left hand.
“So, You’ve come back eh?”
“For now”
I closed my eyes.
“You look pale”
“Does it make sense to say I feel pale?”
“You don’t have long do you? Before your inner world falls apart into oblivion. That’s why you came here, isn’t it?”
I nodded
“Well I can’t help you”
“I didn’t think you could”
“Then you're…”
“Waiting”
“I see. Do you mind if I join you?”
Kisuke sat beside me as I shook my head
“How was Orihime?”
“Scarred, but who wouldn’t be? I personaly would rather be trapped in an insane asylum then be held in Hueco Mundo.”
“So its begun has it?”
“Yes, Aizen is advancing and soon the attack will happen and most will be powerless to stop him.”
“But there’s gotta be hope out there right?”
Kisuke leaned his head back to the wall, aiming his head to the sky as I opened my eyes.
“Oh yeah there’s hope. And his name is Ichigo Kurosaki. But he’s not the only one who bares that burden.”
“I see. You bare a different air of hope Kurono. A hope for yourself and to your friends. Keep true to your heart and you’ll see results. How do you think I've lasted alone?”
“You sound like a forturne cookie.”
“I do my best.”
I coughed and I could feel my life slipping
“I'm gonna wait…till he gets here… I have to last that long. I owe myself that much.”
Kisuke sighed
“Well isn’t it just a beautiful night? A perfect night for star gazing”
I smiled and closed my eyes
“It is”
“I’ll send someone to find you when you get there”
“Who?”
“Well I know a certin cat that would be more than willing to help out a friend.”
“Good, all I've got to do is out last this pain till he gets here…”
“Yes, can I get you anything?”
“No”
“You’ve got to let others in Kurono, that’s why you're dying. Keeping your heart alone kills you. That’s something you and Ichigo share.”
“Whatever.”
Darkness started climbing into my mind
“Wake me up… when he gets here… will ya?”
“Sure thing”
I let the darkness swallow me and I was falling
--------------------------Inner World-----------------------------------------------
I looked up to see a black sky with several large cracks in it. As I stood I saw that all the buildings were crummbling. The bench was gone and no one was in sight.
“Hello!? Tenshi? You there?”
I took a step forward and fell as the ground shook. Several cracks apeared in the street.
“What is going on?”
“You have destroyed our world”
I turned to see my inner hollow. I still couldn’t tell is it was a boy or girl.
“What you want?”
“I want to fix this world and control it again!”
The hollow pulled a copy of my sword off his back. The blade was white and so was the grip.
On the Way to Freedom
“Taro, tell me something”
“Yes?”
“What have you heard on the intruder?”

“Yes”
