Paul knew the time had come.
It was time for John to return to heaven.
John knew as well, that's why the last few minutes they had together was silent until John sighed and stood up.
"I have to go now Paulie" he whispered, "It's time"
Paul sat up in bed, never taking his eyes off the setting sun
"I wish you could stay John"
"Me too. But George needs me"
"John...can't you take me with you?"
John blinked
"Paul. How could you say that? What about your kids?"
"I know, I'm sorry, I-I just can't let you go again"
"Paul" John leaned towards the man until their faces were touching.
"My time has come to an end. But you must live. You have to keep us alive. You're a living legend. But one day you will join us in paradise, I promise. But until that day comes, you have to stay strong. I will meet you again"
Paul let the tears slide down his cheeks and he pulled John into a hug
"I love you John"
John smiled, and returned the hug, making Paul feel like he was floating on air
"I love you too"
And before the sun disappeared from the sky, they shared their last kiss and John placed his hand on Paul's chest.
"I'll be right here" he whispered, before Paul fell back into his dreams,
"Always"
