Meeting At The Mall
0 ReviewsGerard has that dream again. This get Creepy at the Mall.
Chapter two, bitches.
The night is still. No soft breeze to ruffle the golden leaves of the surrounding trees. Up above the sky is coated in a thick layer of cloud and smoke, no rays of silver light gain access to the streets of New Jersey. A smell of chemical waste still lingers in the air, most likely from the industrial factories closed long ago. It would bring bile to the throat of passers by, if there were any. A bat flies past. Its wings spread, gliding through the sky as if nothing was wrong at all. That bat, clearly doesn’t know what is wrong. He has no troubles of this place, he knows only innocence. Far on the horizon, a streak of pale blue and pink mark the first signs of dawn.
The man with the black hair is worried. He is more certain of what he needs to do now. Yet, he just wants to be home again, with his loving mother and his little sister. Why did he get chosen? He places his feet carefully on the moss caked pavement, as if he doesn’t want to leave a trace. The jeans he is wearing are faded and the hems frayed. There are holes and rips in them, showing the ghostly pale skin and skinny legs underneath. His hazel eyes show fear, hurt, and anxiety. Suddenly, his name can be heard. A faint whispered call. He spins around, heart in his mouth, prepared to run.
Yet his eyes scan the area, and paranoia overcomes him as he realises….
He is completely and utterly alone.
Gerard’s POV
I woke up in a cold sweat, gasping for my breath.
“I really hate it when I get woken up by stupid ass dreams,” I muttered to myself. Once again I had woken due that freaky dream. What the hell did it have to do with me? Last time I checked New Jersey hadn’t changed, then again I haven’t checked in a good few years. Who is this young man with the knotty black hair?
Instead of fussing and pissing about over a fucktarded dream, I just carried on as normal. Getting dressed, drinking coffee, and driving to work. My car; a Subaru. It’s one of my most prized possessions. It took me nearly two years of saving as much money as I could to buy it. I worked as a security guard in the local mall, so the pay was okay. Well, enough to get me through life with some left over dollars.
Anyway, I made it to work without any freakish happenings. The mall was packed as usual. It always was on Saturday afternoons.
During my shift, nothing unusual happened, until leaving time. The mall was just closing for the night, so I was walking to my car. I noticed that the multi-story car park was uncannily empty. The mall was closing for the night, it’s understandable that the place is empty, but it’s never this empty. I mean, it was literally, my car surrounded by a vast emptiness. It was quite unnerving, if I’m honest.
Quickly, I scurried back to my car, but as I quick-walked, a dark shape caught the corner of my eye. I froze in fear, the hairs on the back of my neck began to stand up, and my heart rate quickened. Slowly, I turned around, to face the figure. According to my eyes, this…. Figure….He had a head of black hair, falling in knotted greasy waves around his face. He had what looked like hazel eyes, fringed with black lashes, and surrounded with what looked like red liner. Wait, did I just spend like, ages describing a freaky stalker creep’s eyes. That did it; I had to get out more. He also looked quite short, not very old either.
Anyway, as scared as I was, I was intrigued, and curious, as to who this mystery man was. Instead of going up to him, I took a normal approach like what any normal person would do when faced with a creep. I slowly inched back, then turned and ran for it. I ran to my car, and then plunged my hand into my jacket pocket searching for my car keys, all the time glancing back to the figure, which was still stood, like a statue, not moving, or moving his glare from me.
I found my keys, opened the door to my car, and then shoved them into the ignition. For a minute I thought it was going to end up like one of those creepy movies, were a load of zombies are chasing after you, so you get in your car and it won’t start. Luckily, my car started straight off, so I drove away as fast as I could yet still be able to manoeuvre to tight corners and turns of the car park. I glanced into my rear-view mirror to see if the figure was still there, and was relieved to see that he wasn’t. I sighed with relief and closed my eyes for just a second.
I allowed myself to relax a little. Maybe he was just, high, or drunk or something. That would explain the stranger’s odd behaviour. Either way, I’m sure it wasn’t anything to do with me.
When I looked up at the road ahead, the figure was stood right in front of my car. I screamed, and slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting him. The seat belt ripped into my shoulder and neck, leaving me crying out in pain from the whip lash. I felt wetness pool at the back of my head, and fear filled my being. Everything was spinning, and I couldn’t bring myself to move.
The figure slowly started walking around to the side of my car. His steps were completely silent. I wanted to just press my foot on the accelerator and drive away, but I couldn’t find it in myself to do so. I just followed his movement with my eyes. In my head I was thinking about how this was going to be my last memory. I started thinking how I would never be able to see my mom again, or my little brother Mikey. There would be no goodbyes. I would just disappear off the face of the Earth, or at least some unfortunate soul would find my bloodied, mangled, half eaten body in my car, right in this very spot.
The very thought made my skin crawl.
I turned my head just an inch to see were the figure was. I froze once again when I saw that the guy was stood, with his face right at my side windscreen. I could see his features much more clearly now. He had hazel eyes, showing an expression of fear and pain. He also had a scorpion tattoo on his neck. His skin was ghostly pale, and free of any imperfections. His expression remained exactly the same. The gaze of his eyes never left me. His long black hair was flying across his pale features.
Suddenly something clicked in my brain.
This was the guy in my dreams.
