For some reason, my mind was a blur and I couldn’t remember what had happened. Eric had hurt him. But I couldn’t tell them that. I didn’t even know where Eric had gone. He had just disappeared.

“The fuck are you talking about?” I stared at Gerard in shock.

“Frank, I was going to tell you yesterday, but I just couldn’t… There’s nobody there. Eric isn’t there. Frank, I don’t even think Eric—“

“Shut up.” I growled. Now he was pissing me off. What, was he trying to tell me I’m crazy? “Just shut up, Gerard.”

“Frank, please, just listen to me. You need to get help.”

I need to get help. You need to get help!” Now I was really fucking pissed. Who the fuck was he to tell me what I needed? “You’re the fucking murderer, Gerard! You’re the crazy one!”

Gerard didn’t say anything. He just looked at the ground, still shaking. God, I hope he gets sick. I hope he gets really fucking sick and just dies.

“Go inside.” I was about to turn around when Gerard’s hand grabbed my arm. “Let go of me, and get your crazy ass inside.”

“Frank…” His voice cracked again. I couldn’t tell if he was crying because the rain was throwing me off.

“Get the fuck away from me.” Eric came up, knowing that something was wrong. He glared at Gerard, pulled his fist back, and punched him. Again and again.

I didn’t stop him.

Gerard.

I had tried to tell Frank about Eric in our room. He wouldn’t listen. He called me a freak. He left. I followed him. He was too busy looking for Eric. He didn’t notice me.

Finally I saw him run towards the back exit. I knew he was going to set the alarms off. I was going to cover my ears. I didn’t like loud noises. But no alarms went off. Instead he casually typed in a pass code in the keypad, opened the door, and walked outside into the rain.

I ran and caught the door before it closed, and slowly went outside. I hated cold weather. I got sick real easily, and I knew if I spent too long in the rain I’d end up getting a really bad cold. I just had had to talk to Frank. Tell him about Eric. Tell him the truth. Get him help.

I froze. ‘Eric’ must have been there. Frank was talking. Nobody was answering. He stood in the middle of the court yard. Moving his hands as he spoke. Tapping his foot as he waited for a reply. I was worried. I was scared.

After a few minutes I took a step forward. I shouldn’t have waited this long. It was cold. I was dizzy. I was still scared. “Frank?”

He turned around. He was shocked when he saw me. He ran up to me. “Gerard, what the fuck are you doing out here?” He asked.

I opened my mouth to speak. But I couldn’t. I was really cold. I coughed. “Dude, you’re gonna get sick.” Frank mumbled. “You gotta get inside. I’ll be just a minute…”

“Frank.” I could speak now. Coughing was done. Time to tell him. Now. “Frank, there’s something I have to tell you.”

He wouldn’t listen. He didn’t want to. “Well, it can wait. Go inside and get warm. I’ve got to talk to…” Who? Nobody was there.

“Frank.” My voice cracked. Cold. I wanted to cry. “There’s nobody there.”

Frank got angry. Really angry. “The fuck are you talking about?!” He yelled. I didn’t like when he yelled.

I tried to explain. “Frank, I was going to tell you yesterday, but I just couldn’t… There’s nobody there. Eric isn’t there. Frank, I don’t even think Eric—“ He wouldn’t listen.

“Shut up! Just shut up, Gerard.” No. He had to know.

“Frank, please, just listen to me. You need to get help.”

He started saying things. I looked down. Dizzy. Cold. Then Frank really got mad. There was pain on the side of my face. I staggered back. I looked up. Frank had his fist raised. He punched me. Again. And Again. Until I fell.

I cried. I was cold. I was sick. I was in pain. I needed help.

Frank.

Finally something inside of me snapped, and I grabbed Eric’s hand and shoved him away. “Get away from him!” I screamed. I looked down at Gerard. He was curled up in a ball, crying, and soaked because of the rain. I turned to look at Eric, but he wasn’t there. He must have run back inside. “Gee?” Gerard looked up at me, crying, gasping, coughing and choking. I tried to pick him up, but I ended up half carrying him and half dragging him, back inside.

I looked down at him; he was losing consciousness. Shit. “Can… Can somebody help?” I found my voice cracking. The cold had gotten to me. I hadn’t realized that I was just as soaked as he was. “Damn, it.” I muttered, then raised my voice to a yell. “CAN I GET SOME HELP OVER HERE?!”

There was silence and then a door slamming. Mike ran down the hall with two other Supervisors.

“What the fuck happened?!” He demanded as he kneeled down by Gerard, who had finally passed out.

“I don’t… I don’t know…” For some reason, my mind was a blur and I couldn’t remember what had happened. Eric had hurt him. But I couldn’t tell them that. I didn’t even know where Eric had gone. He had just disappeared.

“How did they get outside?” One of the supervisors wondered aloud. I couldn’t answer him. I felt sick and dizzy myself.

“Get Hart. And get a couple medics.” Mike mumbled. “Frank, you okay?”

I didn’t reply, but I tried to nod my head. That just made the dizzy feeling worse. What was happening? I was so fucking confused. “I…” I wanted to say I was fine, and that they should just help Gerard but I couldn’t seem to find the words. I heard more footsteps and the familiar clacking sound of Hart’s heels coming closer and closer.

There was more talking but this time I couldn’t understand what was being said. I went into a coughing fit before everything went dark.
