“THE FUCK?!” I screamed, running into the kitchen. Mom dropped the phone and dad came behind me and grabbed me by the arms.

“Calm down, son.” He mumbled.

“LET GO OF ME, ASSWIPE!” I brought my leg back and kicked my dad in the balls.

Yeah. I kicked. My dad. In the balls.

He let go of me and staggered, his hands reaching for his dick. My mom stared at me in horror as if she had no idea who I was, I thought I’d remind her. “I’m your son.” I whispered. “I’m your fucking son and you want to get me fucking arrested?!” I hissed.

“Frank, you escaped from an asylum…” Dad said gruffly, straightening up. “You can’t expect us to just let you back in as if nothing’s happened.”

“I JUST WANTED YOU TO HELP HIM!” I screamed, pointing towards Gerard who was slowly getting up off of the couch.

“It’s not right, Frank. You’re not right-“

“YOU FUCKING DICK-“

“Frankie?” Gerard stumbled over to me, with his backpack in his hands. He grabbed my arm and I realized he was shaking. “H-Hart.” He whispered, his eyes wide. I blinked, then I realized. The cops probably wouldn’t arrest us. They’d take us to the station and they’d call Hart, and we’d end up right where we started.

But maybe that wasn’t a bad thing – Gerard would be safe and he’d get medical attention. Gerard’s eyes widened as if he had read my thoughts. “M-Mikey.” He whispered. I sighed, if we ended up back at Mountain View he wouldn’t be able to see his brother again – and he’d end up staying in a mental hospital knowing that he hadn’t done anything to deserve being kept there. Suddenly I heard sirens in the distance.

Fuck.

“Gerard!” I grabbed his hand and we sprinted out through the back door, ignoring my parent’s calls. The sirens were getting closer, so I kept pulling him away. I wasn’t going to stop running until I was positive that we were out of the cops’ sight. The sirens were even louder, even though we were running away so I assumed they had finally arrived at my parent’s place. Fuck, I didn’t even want to call them my parents. How the fuck could they do this to me?!

I didn’t have time to worry about why my parents had become such assholes – we had to hide somewhere. Knowing my parents, they would have already called Hart and she would be on her way over to their house.

We finally stopped when the sirens seemed pretty far off in the distance. Gerard clung to me and I wasn’t sure whether or not he was scared or just tired from running, I assumed it was both. I wrapped my arms around him as he half sobbed and half gasped into my shoulder. “Hey, it’s gonna be okay.” I whispered, even though I wasn’t sure myself.

I wasn’t sure how far we had walked that day; I had too many thoughts running through my head. We had walked in silence and Gerard had leant against me the whole time, for support. He was getting weaker by the second and it was getting late so there were no words to describe the joy I felt when I saw the green sign that read ‘Harrison’. Gerard looked up at me with a wide eyed expression, a small smile playing at his lips and I grinned at him. “Finally.” I sighed.

We found ourselves, once again in another park. Gerard was curled up on the bench with the blanket wrapped around him. He was shaking and I wrapped my arms around him. I had the map spread out on my legs and was trying to figure out where exactly Mikey and his new family lived – unfortunately the map didn’t really give the names and locations of the streets in Harrison. I sighed. We’d just have to figure it out by ourselves.

I couldn’t seem to forget about what my parents had done. How they had called Gerard a ‘case’ and how they seemed to not even talk to me as if I was their son – they thought I was some freak. Was I? I looked down at Gerard, he seemed to be sleeping even though his breathing was more like a series of short choking gasps.

“Gee?” I whispered. He groaned and looked up at me. “Gerard, get up.” I moved and he slowly sat up, running a hand through his hair.

“Whaduph?” He grumbled.

“C’mon.” I stood up, backpack in one hand, and grabbed Gerard’s hand with the other. He frowned in confusion.

“Frankie, w-where--?” I didn’t reply, I just continued to pull him away from the park. I didn’t answer any of us unfinished questions, I just continued to walk, repeating the same thing over and over in my head.

1232 Penman Avenue.

1232 Penman Avenue.

1232 Penman Avenue.

1232 Penman Avenue.

Gerard.

My head hurt, really bad. It felt like there were bricks on my chest. It made it hard to breathe. I was freezing. But Frankie kept pulling me. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going. I was so confused. I wanted to lay down. And go to sleep. I was so tired. Frankie knew that. Why wouldn’t he just let me lay down. Finally he stopped. He told me to stay where I was. I blinked my eyes. Things were coming into focus now. We were in a neighborhood. Where? I didn’t know. Frankie was gone.

I ran my hand through my hair. It was greasy and gross. I had to wipe my hand on the grass. Ew. I heard voices, but I didn’t feel like turning around. Even though I was curious to know what they were saying.

It felt like forever before I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Frankie. He was grinning. Why? He grabbed my hand and pulled me up. I frowned as he led me to a door. A woman smiled at me. She had tears in her eyes. Who was she? Why was she crying.

She moved aside and let me and Frankie in. She turned around and looked up the stairs. “James? Could you come down here for a minute?” She called. Who was James. The woman moved towards a man, who wrapped his arms around her. They both stared at me with smiles on their face. There was clattering then the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. That must be James. I glanced at Frank but he just grinned. I turned back towards the stairs.

My mouth fell open.

His hair had grown. He had glasses. And he wasn’t smiling. But I knew who he was right away. “Mikey?” I asked. This couldn't be happening.

Mikey looked confused for a minute before opening his mouth.

“Who are you?”

Author’s Note- Sorry for the late update. I’m in the hospital and it took forever for my mom to bring me my laptop. This chapter probably sucks, but still; Tell me what you think? x
