I’m gonna quickly saw that that I haven't lived in Cobar for about 7 years, and I drive through that town twice a year to get to the next town, Wilcannia (which is even MORE of a hole). Therefore, I am doing this by memory and Google Maps... if it works. If there are any Aussies reading this who live in that area, sorry for anything I get wrong coz like I said, it's been a while. I'll shut up now XD

Gerard's P.O.V

I almost don't believe that Frank is almost here... nothing really seems real in this small town in the outback. If I ever go back, I’m gonna have to get the boys to place a 'secret show' in one of these towns. I love it here, and I’ve only been here for one day!

It's been an hour since I called Frank... half an hour, half an hour, half an hour... those words keep spinning around in my head. For the past hour, Donna has been wondering around the house, tidying things up. I felt kinda bad for not helping her, but when I tried; she just told me to stop and made me another cup of the magical Milo. I'm lovin' this drink, but I seriously gonna have to introduce Donna to the wonder of 'coffee'.

For the last 10 minutes, I’ve been wondering around in the backyard. There was nothing too special there. There were many plants that were actually growing (which stood out from all of the other backyards, which just had dirt and small bushes. Moreover, it was a fairly big backyard too. I walked into a shady part near the fence, which separates the front yard form the back; I found a bag of shabby tools, electrical tape and a whole heap of cable ties. I wonder what they were for... the tools didn't look new, more like second-hand.

I walked back inside and I found that Donna was no longer in the kitchen... or the lounge room... or the spare bedroom... or her room... I wondered down the hallway until I found a doorway concealed behind a dark purple curtain. I wondered why I never saw it before, and shook my head to lose the though. I heard some music coming softly through door, meaning that someone was in there.

I parted the curtain and notice that Donna was sitting in the middle of a room that I instantly loved. It was full of so many art supplies, so much paper to construct a small forest, paint, cardboard, pencils, glue... this girl was loaded. There was a shelf running along the far wall laden with sketchbooks and CDs. in the corner next to the doorway was a stereo, which was the source of the music. It wasn't the style that I would normally listen to, but whatever, this wasn't my house.

Donna looked up from where she was sitting and grinned. "Who like?" She asked. I nodded enthusiastically and sat next to her, looking at what she was drawing. It was a manga of a woman with her eyes close and had rabbit ears... a 'Usagi', the Japanese word for rabbit.

"Done! What do you think?" Donna asked.

"It's wonderful, pretty..." just like you I thought. "Well done."

Donna smiled. "Thanks." she replied as the current song playing finished, and another one started.

"OHMYGOD this is my favourite song!" Donna suddenly exclaimed, jumped up and ran to the stereo to turn up the volume. She had knocked her sketchbook out of her lap. I quickly grabbed it and started to look through it. I found that Donna filled up her book from the back. I glanced up and saw that Donna was looking down on me.

"Hey... who said that you can look through that?" She asked playfully, taking her spot back on the carpet.

Gerard was looking through my art book, admiring my not-so-good drawings. I was so glad that I grabbed that book and not my other one... the one full of all the drawings I do when I’m hurt, upset or depressed. That book was quiet "emo-y".

"What do you think of Alex Lloyd?" I had my Watching Angels Mend CD going in the stereo.

"Who?"

I gasped. "If you're gonna stay here, you have to know who Alex Lloyd is! He is my favourite singer and I would DIE if I couldn't listen to him. I'm playing his 2nd album right now, this song is called Green and he's an Australian artist." I could talk about Alex Lloyd all day if I wanted to.

"Oh, well... this song is alright, but it's not the style I would normally listen to, sorry." Gerard admitted somewhat shyly. I laughed.

"Eh... don't worry about it. I guess you've never heard of him? Not many of my friends have." I explained. I noticed that Gerard was on the page where I’d drawn a girl in a long dress as is stabbing herself through the heart. Shit. I thought that that pic was in a different book. Gerard raised an eyebrow and before he could say anything, his phone started to ring.

"Frank!" Gerard exclaimed.

"Hey Gee, I'm in Cobar. I just passed that sign-mine thing. What now?" I heard Frank ask.

"Keep going straight until you get to..." I continued to give directions to Morrison Street, and Gerard relayed them.

Five minutes later, a black car pulls up behind Gerard's broken down hire car. I laughed. If it were summer, you would be able to cook eggs on the roof of Frank's car.

I finally pulled up in front of the only house with stuff growing. Was Gerard staying with some old person? However, that woman sounded young...

One hour of driving, nothing in really between. Red dirt, low shrubs, kinda flat... and blue sky. Flat fuckin blue. Had this place NEVER heard of clouds? I needed a coffee.

I walked up to the door, flicking back my black fringe, and knocked on the door. I only had to wait a minute before the door was flung back and someone taller than me tackled me, almost making both of us fall to the ground.

"Holly shit Gee; it's only been two days!" I exclaimed as I rightened myself up.

"Sorry... it's just that after being out here in a different country, it seems longer. Oh, this is Donna." Gerard gestured to a woman who stood back awkwardly in the hallway. Donna smiled and waved.

"Hey Frank. I'm the one who was shouting directions through the phone. It's awesome to meet you by the way." She added, stepping forward to shake my hand.

"Fuck that, give us a hug!" I said and took a step forward. It was like hugging Ray, this woman has so tall. Fuck my 'vertically challenged-ness'.

"Wow Gee, you picked up a babe! How the hell did you end up staying here anyway?" I asked

"The hire car broke down. Lucky huh? It could have happened in a dodgier part or in front of some rapists' home, but it didn't" Gerard replied, taking a step towards Donna. I'm guessing that he's digging her. Oh, and I noticed that she has the same name as Gerard and Mikey's mum. Funny.

"Yeah, the car carked it in front of a house which looks like it belongs to an oldie, ha-ha." I joked.

"Well I like gardening, thanks to my dad. It's fun and it keep's my... occupied." Donna explained. She took a pause, which made me think that there is something behind that...

"Would you like a drink?" Donna asked.

"Well, I could do with a coffee hit if you don't mind." I replied.

"Sorry... no coffee." Gerard said.

I wanted to scream out. NO COFFEE! No fucking coffee?! How is Gerard living this long? Coffee is our fucking lifeline.

"Whoa... sorry, this must be the wrong house; coz the Gerard I know would be dying from no coffee." I went to turn around when Gerard grabbed my shoulder and spun me around.

"Frank, wait. We have something just as good. You have to 'Milo'" Gerard said excitedly. This Milo must be good is Gerard is excited.

"What the..." I started to say before Gerard started to push me into the house. Donna shook her head and laughed at Gerard.

"Milo is a type of Australian drink. It's a chocolate-malt powder which you mix with milk and you can drink it hot or cold." Donna explained as she followed us into the kitchen.

"Okay... can I have a hot one please?" I asked. Donna nodded and started to mix up three mugs of this stuff that Gerard was getting hyperactive over.

Ha-ha yeah... in case you were wondering, I have a Milo fetish. It's my favourite drink. You people SERIOUSLY have to try it one day. Reviews and ratings welcome!
