Star Wars, a phone call to Jersey, and an omnomnom-ing unicorn... maybe
It’s been a while since I watched Star Wars... Actually, it’s been a while since I had watched a movie at all.
I like this one and I had to agree with Frank... The first three Star Wars movies did kinda suck... But the person who played Anikin in the 3rd movie was hot!
“Donna... Is that all you’re gonna have?” Frank asked as he looked at my small bowl of salad. I nodded.
“Well, it’s not enough.” Gerard said from above me. I was sitting in front of the couch again, with my head resting on his knee.
“Yeah it is... I don’t need to eat that much.” I replied, eating the last lettuce leaf in my bowl. Not the fancy lettuce - YUCK! - but Iceberg lettuces.
“You need more food... And you’re not fat if that’s what you’re thinking.” Gerard replied. I shook my head, and kept my eyes focused on Luke fighting the Sand People. He was failing.
Suddenly, Gerard’s knee disappeared from underneath my head and before I had the chance to hit the couch, someone tackled me to the ground.
“I got her!” Came Frank’s voice on top of me. Okay, so it was Frank who tackled me.
“Frankie, what the fuck!” I exclaimed. Frank giggled.
“Once you eat a slice of pizza, you can get up.” Gerard said playfully from next to me. He was holding a slice of Meat Lovers near my mouth.
“Eat a heart attack on bread? No.” I tried to shove Frank off me, but he had my arms pinned under his legs.
“Well, I’m not going anywhere.” Replied Frank. Although I wasn’t getting crushed by Frank, it was uncomfortable having him on my tummy. I considered just staying how I was until Gerard and Frank got bored, but it was getting awkward with Frank sitting on me.
“Frank, is there any broccoli on your pizza?” I asked through gritted teeth. I knew that once I opened my mouth, Gerard would shove a slice in my mouth.
“Yeah...” Frank trailed off, wondering where this was going.
“Could you pick a piece of your pizza and put it on the slice Gerard’s holding? Then I’ll eat it.”
Frank looked a little unsure, but he did as I asked. I opened my mouth, signaling that I was gonna eat what Gerard was holding.
After taking a mouthful, Frank got off me. I put my arm across where he was sitting and took a deep breath.
"Do I hurt you? Sorry" Frank said as he helped me up.
"No, no. You're all right." I got my chewed pizza slice from Gerard and we all returned to our previous positions.
After Gerard and I got Donna to eat the pizza, we kept on watching Star Wars. Half way through the movie, Donna got up.
"I promised Chris that I would call him today." Donna said as she exited the room. Once again, Gerard and I were alone.
"So Gerard, when are you gonna tell Mikey, Ray and Bob that we're in Australia?" I asked him.
"Um..." Gerard started to say.
I passed Gerard my phone. "Call Mikey. NOW! I have my phone set to international calls, so it wont make me run out of credit quickly."
"Okay." Gerard said, and dialled his brothers number into my phone. I muted the TV and quickly said "Don't take too long either... it still costs quiet a lot to call America."
Gerard nodded and waited for Mikey to pick up.
"Frank?" I heard Mikey ask.
"No, It's Gee. How ya been, Mikes?"
"Gerard, do you know what fucking time it is?" Mikey asked kinda angrily.
"Uh... no." Gerard admitted. Stupid time zones.
"It's four in the morning. I like to sleep and I though you do too."
"Well... it's not 4 AM here."
"Why... where are you? Oh, and why haven't I heard from you in the last few days? And why does it cost me a fortune to send you a text message?" okay... I thought, this is where Gerard tells him...
"Sorry I haven't told you yet, but I'm no longer in Jersey... or in USA anymore."
"WHAT?!" Mikey screamed through the phone. He was defiantly awake now. "Where are you then?"
"I'm... er... in Australia." Gerard shot me a look saying 'There... I did it!'
"Coz I needed to escape everything back in America. It was getting crazy. And Australia is the furthest away, just about."
"Gee, weren't you the one who always told me not to run away from problems and not to take anyone's shit? And you told us all that this job wasn't gonna be easy." Mikey said.
"Yeah." Gerard started to just stare at the TV screen.
"Then why run away?"
"I don't know," Gerard said softly. "I really don't know. Something was telling me to do this. It felt like the right thing to do."
I heard Mikey sigh.
"Well, next time you feel like popping off to another country, tell me so that my phone bill doesn't blow sky-high, okay? Now, where exactly are you staying? I'm coming." Mikey's tone changed quickly into a cheerful one.
"Wha...?" Gerard was a bit shocked to here this.
"Dude, I'm going to fly down to Oz to be with you on this. Compenda?"
"Okay... Can you tell Ray? And Bob?" Gerard asked.
"Sure. What about Fran... hang on, aren't you using Frank's phone?" Mikey said, getting a bit confused.
"Yeah" Gerard said in a smug tone.
"What did you do, steal it from him so that you wont have to use up your credit? Or is he there with you?"
"Frankie, say 'hi' to Mikey." Gerard in a sweet voice, holding the phone out to me.
"Hey Mikey... Did you like the wake-up call?" I asked, taking my phone back from Gerard.
"Frank, why the hell didn't you stop Gerard from gallivanting down south... shit, that sounded wrong. Forgot I said that."
"You're asking the smallest band member why I didn't stop your brother?" I asked.
"Shut up. Why didn't you talk him out of it?"
I though about my answer for a moment. "Coz I wanted to come too. Gerard was right, shit is getting crazy back in Jersey, so I came here with him to see what would happen."
"Okay then... I'm gonna go back to sleep now." Mikey yawned one of the fakest yawns I have ever heard.
"Aww, nighty-night lil' Mikes!" Gerard called through the phone, in a tone that one would use while talking to a baby.
"I'll set my unicorn on you Gee..." Mikey muttered before hanging up.
I couldn't help but start laughing. Gerard must have heard the last part too, because he was laughing along with me
