Gerard tries his hardest to apologize to Frank at least five years after Frank's death from lung cancer. Based five years from now. ONESHOT.
I've got a ONESHOT! I have no clue where this came from, but it's not sad like Drowning Lessons, SO DON'T WORRY! YOU CAN KEEP YOUR TISSUES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM THIS TIME! But other than that, read away fellow fangirls!
"Hey it's Frank, I can't pick up the phone right now, so leave a message, and I'll get back to you!"
Gerard smiled at the sound of Frank's voicemail. Frank sounded so happy. So young. So.... Different. But that was almost fifteen years ago.
"Hey, it's um, Gerard. I just felt like calling you, Frankie. You know your voicemail is still the same from when we first met?" Gerard laughed to himself. "It's kind of cute, actually. You sound so young and happy." Gerard sighed. "Frank. I called to talk to you. I know you can't do that, but I just feel like maybe if I could somehow let you know.... You wouldn't have passed hating me." He started to choke up now. "I always loved you, Frankie. You were my everything. You were there for me through my drug and alcohol addiction. You stood by me at the toughest of times. You were there when Eliza broke my heart. And I just.... I threw it all away. I'm so sorry Frankie! I loved you so much and I still do! I ruined everything the day I married Lyn-Z! I screwed up, Frankie! Sure we were friends, but it was never the same! And guess what?! Lyn-Z was just a fucking gold digger! She left me after I broke down and told the truth about how I felt, and always will feel, about you, Frankie! She took Bandit away from me! I don't know what I saw in her! Oh, Frankie...." Gerard was in hysterical tears now. He took a second to regain his composure. "I loved you. And I always will. More than a friend. I just wish you knew that before you left...." He sighed. "If you ever get this message, call me back."
"Hello?" a small and almost inaudible voice said just before Gerard pulled his ear away from the phone.
Gerard knew that voice. He hadn't heard it for a long time, but he knew who it was.... "Frankie?"
