The crowd didn't care that one of the guitar parts was missing, or that there was no singing. Gerard Way was kissing Frank Iero. Little oneshot I thought of while guitaring :D
Gerard was prancing around the stage, dressed in black, singing his guts out into the microphone he held so tightly that his knuckles were white. He looked round at his afro-headed guitarist, who was near the back next to the drumkit. Ray wasn't afraid of being onstage, because he figured that most eyes would be on Gerard anyway, as he was the singer. The guitarist nodded his head up and down as he worked his fingers to the bone on the strings of his guitar. His wild curly hair was all over the place and he felt alive as he 'head-banged', as they called it.
Yelling another line into the crowd, who ingested the words of the song, which only made them scream louder, Gerard looked back at the blonde drummer. Bob was fine with being onstage too, because although he suffered from mild stage fright, he was positioned at the back of the huge stage with a drumkit to hide behind. He wasn't really hidden; his face and upper torso were clearly visible to the gigantic crowd, but the fact that the drums were between him and the audience made him feel a lot better.
Mikey was different; he was a lot more nervous than the rest of them when it came to showtime. He had stage fright and was always uncomfortable when lots of eyes were on him. Gerard glanced over at his brother, who wasn't smiling unlike the rest of the band. His knees were shaking slightly, but he wondered if it was just the vibrations form the noise of the music. Mikey met his eyes and Gerard gave his little brother a encouraging smile, which he did his best to return.
Frank was the complete opposite of Mikey. He didn't care about stage fright, or what anybody thought of him; he just went crazy onstage. He loved to be the centre of attention and was willing to show off at every oppertunity, as the other members of My Chemical Romance had quickly discovered. The short-ass guitarist was leaping around like a kid full of sugar, banging his head up and down more wildly than Ray, and his fingers were a blur on his guitar strings.
Gerard stared wide eyed at the crowd that seemed to stretch for miles; a monstrous, heaving sea of people and flashing lights from cameras. He wondered how many people he didn't know had pictures of him. Probably millions. He drank in their energy, their screams, their laughter, their grins. It was a better kind of high than drugs.
Shrieking into the microphone, he banged his head up and down like his guitarists and the crowd copied, screaming louder. He danced around the stage, nodding at each of his band members until he came to Frank, who grinned at him and blew him a playful kiss. Gerard laughed at the private joke and pretended to kiss him on the cheek for effect. Frank pounced away from him, almost falling to his knees with the effort he was putting in.
Still singing, Gerard circled the stage again, wondering what he could do to get an even bigger reaction out of the crowd. What would make their fans scream louder? What would make them remember this performance?
An idea sparked to life inside his head and he finished the line he was singing. He gave a huge grin to the crowd and thought to himself as he retraced his steps, you're gonna flip when you see this.
Walking casually over to Frank, who was grinning at him as if he knew what was flashing through his mind, Gerard didn't look at the audience as he grabbed Frank's longish black hair and kissed him hard on the lips.
The crowd went absolutely insane. They screamed so loud that it was a wonder nobody's eardrums burst. Frank was startled at first, but knew the cause. He felt Gerard's fingers lace through his hair, and stopped playing, wrapping his arm around the singer's waist, deepening the kiss. That only made the crowd scream louder. They didn't seem to care that one of the guitar parts was missing, or that there was no singing.
Gerard Way was kissing Frank Iero.
Bob laughed as he looked over at his bandmates, but kept playing, otherwise the beat would deteriorate. Ray played extra loud to fill in for Frank, who's playing hand was currently wrapped around Gerard's waist. Mikey raised his eyebrows, but wasn't surprised and gave a grin of amusement.
Knowing that he had to start singing again, Gerard pushed Frank away, ended the kiss and raised the microphone again, continuing the song with an even bigger grin than before. In a daze, Frank took a few steps back and began to play again, listening to Ray to figure out where to come back in.
A grin stretched widely across Frank's face, and no matter how hard he tried to stop it, a grin trickled across Mikey's face too. He laughed, and his stage fright left him. He loosened up and began dancing around like Frank and Gerard. Ray stayed where he was, but laughed too, joining Bob in his amusement. Gerard and Frank sure knew how to cheer people up, even if it was in an odd way.
This truly was a performance that everyone would remember.
