Good chapter. I think your idea of wizards having anything painful or unpleasent obliviated is a great explanation of their attitude. Thanks for writing. W.

Uh-oh -- wizards actually trying to think? I hope the 'Puffs don't hurt themselves too much as they strain their brain! (yes, singular, as they seem to be sharing the same one)

How dare Hermione ask the Puffs to actually use their brains! Another Moony and Padfoot interlude soon, please.

Hmm. My cat once confused the hell out of a badger by jumping over it repeatedly. Now why does this come to mind right now?=)
I do appreciate Hermione getting annoyed by the innate magical daftness. It happens too rarely. Why not turn it around? Obliviators also implant false memories, don't they? Have Hermione spread the idea to obliviate boring classes, replacing the memories with more exciting things. Wouldn't that be great for OWL-preparations? Keep it up. I'm right here (unless the ISP dies. Again.) Thanks

I have to say that your view on how the purebloods deal with pain and humiliation is very interesting. It would explain so much about how they act. Can't wait to read the rest of the story.

I have to agree that your take on how Purebloods deal wiht pain et al. makes a lot of sense of canon; without a firm, and generally painful, learning of cause and effect, there can be no learning or growth. I have to love Hermione's recognition of this and her annoyance with the 'Puffs over it. This idiot makes a great contrast to Neville who is learning and growing because he refuses to lose the painful memories.
