He looked up at me, rather startled that I had said something to him.
"Hi." he mumbled back.
"Can I sit here?" I asked him, motioning towards the seat in front of him. He nodded, his eyes not leaving mine.
I sat down, smiling sillily at him.
"So your name's Frank right?" I asked.
He nodded. "Yep, but you can just call me Frankie. I like it better."
"Well, Frankie, where are you from?"
"I just moved here from livng with my grandparents in Idaho. I'm living with my mom now." he said, making a weird expression when he said "my mom". What was that about?
"Oh that's cool. So do you like it here?" I asked.
"It's ok. It rains a hell of a lot more here though."
I laughed, "I know! I hate the rain!" He giggled a little when I said this. "That's so adorable! He's so adorable! Maybe even more than adorable...." I thought to myself.
"Well you've asked a little about me so now it's my turn to ask a little about you. Oh and I never caught onto your name." he said.
"Oh sorry about that! My name's Jackie Taylor."
"It's ok." he chuckled. "What else can you tell me about you, Jackie?"
"Well I'm 16, just turned it last month on the 2nd. Ummmm I have two crazy friends named Debbie and Susie, I play a little bit of piano, I love swimming and music, I love to go horseback riding, and.... that's about it."
"Wow that was more than what I told you about me." he said, smiling.
"Well then tell me a little more about yourself." I said, returning the smile.
"Ok. Um I also love music, I turned 16 almost 4 months ago on the 11th of December, I don't play an instrument yet, but hopefully I'll learn to play guitar or bass, and that's pretty much it for me."
"Awesome. You know Frankie, you're actually pretty cool." I said, flashing a sweet smile at him.
"Hey you are too not just cool ol' me." he laughed. No i'm just kidding. Well not about you being cool but about me being cool."
I laughed back, "You are so cool, Frankie. One of the coolest guys I've ever met."
"Thanks." he shyly replied back, blushing. He looked into my eyes and I thought I was going to melt at the sight of them. They were so green, so beautiful. Just then the bell rang for lunch to end.
"Well I guess we gotta go back to shitty class." he said getting up. I also got up.
Hey Frankie, me and my friends Debbie and Susie, the one's I told you about earlier, we are going to see a movie tonight. Wanna come?"
"Thanks for the offer, but sorry babe. Some guys I met today already invited me to one of their houses tonight and I agreed to go, but definately some other time I'll go with you."
"Oh ok. Then I guess I'll see ya later."
"I guess you will."
"Bye Frankie."
"Bye Jackie." and with that he turned down another hall, looking back at me with a million dollar smile and a look that read "I really will see you later".
When I got to my locker I couldn't stop freakin out about how he called me babe! Oh how I loved how he said that! Maybe someday he will say it with a different meaning?
