I'm In The Band, but I Need Something to Play
0 ReviewsFrankie's friend just invited him into their band, and now all Frankie needs is a bass

The last bell of the day was getting ready to go off. The bell that everyone awaited that signaled that it was time to get on the bus and go home for the day. Frankie sat in his desk waiting for it to go off. He liked this school a little better than the one he went to in Idaho. He had already made a couple of cool guy friends and a very sweet and amazing girl friend. Maybe she was the one for Frankie? He was starting to think that same thought. Then all of a sudden, RIIIIIINNNNGGGG! everyone jumped out of their seats and headed toward their bus. Of course Frankie was the last one out of the classroom. He walked into the hallway, suddenly realizing he had no clue where his friend Rick Van Zandt's bus was. Frankie started panicking when someone yelled,
"Yo! Frankie! This way man!" yelled Rick from the other end of the hall. Frankie turned around at Rick's voice and saw him and his other friend, Sam Henriot, waiting for him.
"Sorry guys. I'm such a damn dumbass." laughed Frankie when he caught up to them.
"Nah, just a little slow." laughed Sam. Frankie playfully punched his arm and they walked to the bus.
"When they got to Rick's house, they went into the garage where Rick's guitar and Sam's drums were. They had told Frankie earlier that they were trying to form a small band, and Frankie was a little annoyed that he couldn't play anything at all. When Rick sat down and started strumming on his guitar, Frankie approached him and said,
"Dude, teach me something. I wanna be able to play at least one thing." Rick looked up at him, a look of surprise on his face. Then a lightbulb turned on in his head.
"Dude, instead of me teaching you guitar, we're actually looking for someone to play bass in our band. Wanna be in the band and play bass?" A look of pure joy crossed Frankie's face.
"You bet your ass I do! And I don't know how to play bass, but I guess I'll learn."
"I guess you will, but you still need a bass dude, and they aren't that cheap." said Rick.
"Oh I think I know how to get one without paying a penny." said Frankie with a sly grin.
"How?" asked Rick.
"Ok, you know that music store I've been going to everyday before and after school? Well this was my first day of school here, but I've been here for about a week. Anyways I'll walk in there with an empty guitar case, ask the guy for an application, and when he turns around, I grab a bass and stick it in the case. Easy."
"Are you sure dude? What if you get caught?"
"I'm not gonna get caught. I'll fucking make sure I don't." laughed Frankie.
"Ok then. When are you gonna do this?"
"Well the store closes at six and it's only four so I guess now. You got a case I could borrow?" Frankie asked. Rick nodded and went to a closet at the back of the garage. He came back to Frankie with a case and handed it to him.
"Thanks man." said Frankie, and with that he turned around, looked back at Rick and told him he'd be back later, then opened the door and headed to the music store.
