Short Frikey oneshot. Rated for language.
“You seem very entertained.” I laugh, and he turns towards me.
“Mikey shut the fuck up. I’m trying to keep my mind off of ---” The thunder growls loudly, and lightning flashes bright outside the window. “--storm.” He finishes quietly. Frank has always hated storms, ever since we were little kids.
“Frankie! It’ll be alright!” Gerard says to a frightened and very young Frank.
“No! It won’t!” Frank screams. I walk up to the boy huddled in the corner, the one my brother is trying to coax into a normal mental state. I wrap my arms gently around him and make him stand up.
“Frankie, it’s going to be okay… shuuuuuuush. Don’t cry.” I turn him towards me, the short boy’s face buried in my chest.
“No it won’t! I’m going to get hit by lighteng. Or you or Gee will.” He cries, not pronouncing ‘lightning correct, but keep in mind, he’s 7 and in a bad mood.
“No we won’t. Frankie you’ll be just fine. Gee won’t get hit by lightning and neither will I. I promise.” I pull away from him and wipe the tears off of his face, before hugging him close again. Gerard stands in the corner, not really knowing what to do, and I sing quietly to Frank.
“Ok. If you promise.” He whispers.
“Aw. Fwankie you’ll be alright.” I tease. He sticks out his tongue at me, looking even more like the child he once was.
“Shut the fuck up.” He mumbles.
“Awww. I’m sowwy Frank.” I say, sitting down on the floor next to him and grabbing the remote. I quickly change the channel to watch Myth Busters.
“Fuck you I was watching that!” He says.
“Yeah? Well too bad.” I turn to him, his beautiful hazel eyes dancing. I turn back towards the TV and turn it off.
“What the hell man?” Frank exclaims.
“We’re going for a walk.” I say. He looks confused for a second, then shakes his head desperately.
“Oh no we are NOT.” He says, still just as afraid of the storm as he was all those years ago. Believe me, being on a tour bus with him was hell. Especially since he never let me get close to him like he did when we are kids.
“Oh yes, we fuckin are!” I say, and pull him up by the elbows.
“Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy?” He whines.
“Because I wanna show you something.” I say.
“Fine.” He pulls on a jacket, putting up the hood, as I open the door. He hesitantly follows me out into the storm, wind whipping his hair around. He involuntarily grabs my arm, scared as lightning flashes.
“Frank, you’ll be just fine.” I wrap an arm around his shoulder, and we walk down the sidewalk. I don’t know what I wanted to show him. I just needed him out of the apartment.
“Where are we going?” He shivers slightly, burrowing closer into my arm and chest every time the rain gets harder, or the thunder and lightning go.
“I don’t know.” I say when it seems safe enough that he won’t run away.
“Mikey you little shit.” He says, turning to look at me.
“I’m bigger than you are!” I exclaim, laughing. “and I had a perfectly good reason to bring you out here.”
“And what would that be?” He sighs.
“I can’t tell you yet.” I state and he looks back towards where we’re going. We continue to walk for some time before he wraps his arm around my waist behind me. I probably look like a complete idiot, shocked out of my mind at the small gesture. He smirks and looks up at me.
“You look like an idiot.” He says, laughing.
“Probably.” I say, “Guess that’s okay.”
“Fuck. Mikey I need to say something.” He sighs. “I am really fuckin scared right now.” He says. He cowers closer, yet again, when lightning flashes, and the thunder roars. The wind whips and his hood goes flying down, and he gets soaked. “Gah! COME ON!” He whines.
“Frankie, you are too cute.” I think.
“What?” Aww shit. I said it out loud. “Did you just say that I’m cute?”
“Yeah. Frank let’s stop for a minute.” I stop and he trips forward slightly. “Frank, yes, I think you’re cute.” I say.
“Actually, no, Frank, I don’t think you’re cute.” I unwrap from him, “I think you are the most beautiful man I have ever seen.”
“Really?” He starts, looking up at me shocked.
“Really. Frank I think you are gorgeous. I think you are sweet and kind and funny and amazing in every way possible.” I say truthfully. I cup his cheek with one hand. “I know you have your flaws, but I love the ones I’ve seen.”
“Mikey, stop.” He says.
“Nope.” I laugh gently.
“Mikey, really stop.” He begs.
“Please don’t tell me not to do this. I have to for the sake of my sanity.” I say, “Frank, I think I love you…” Frank smiles.
“Mikey, I wanted you to stop… I couldn’t have stood if you told me all those things, that I’ve dreamed of you telling me, and then saying you couldn’t ever love me.” He beams. I laugh and push his dripping hair out of his face.
“You’re soaking wet.” I sigh, and he laughs quietly. He leans up towards me and kisses me gently on the lips. I feel his soft, wet lips moving slightly on mine, and realize that I’m not kissing back at all. I feel his hand wrap around to the back of my neck, and one to my waist as I kiss back. After minutes, but it seems too quickly, he pulls away, and beams. I smile back at him wholeheartedly.
“Mikey I love you.” Frank says.
“and Frank… I love you too…” I say truthfully.
“Can we go home?” He asks seconds before lightning flashes again. He cowers into my chest and I cover both his ears, and we turn to walk home. We eventually get there, and strip of our wet jackets, and shoes.
A/N- Thought I would post this, wrote it awhile ago. Slight writers block, so I won't be updating 'All we know is falling'. I'll be trying to write. ASAP.
