Back at home, Dan set up Phil’s camera. He stood to the side and started his first video… well first video on his own channel.
He started by leaning in, towards the camera. Then just standing in front of it and said, “Hi.” And went on to say, “My name is Dan,” he made motions with his hands where he would put his name when editing. “And this is my first proper video I guess.” He picked up a party popper and popped it while saying, “Whoo.” With the paper tissue on his head he continued,
“I mean, I’ve always kind of wanted to be somebody who posts videos I guess I’ve never really had the confidence or the motivation.” He took the tissue paper off his head. “But that was until a really good friend I've made recently persuaded me to give it a shot.” He went on to talk about sounding like a paedophile polar bear then apologizing to said polar bear. “My videos will probably be a variety of things from like, little skits to vlogy videos or creative things. I’m going to try to make them interesting and not all the same.” Dan decided to do a little random ‘emo’ impression to point out he won’t be making boring vlogs and then grabbed a few random objects almost to prove his point further. He finished with an awkward ending then turned off his camera.
After editing it as much as he thought he should, he posted it up on his YouTube channel. Dan, happy with his new creation, decided to reward himself with chocolate and TV. He was engrossed in the mindless box when his phone vibrated. Dan picked it up and saw it was a new text from Phil. He eagerly opened it; Hey Daniel ;D I saw your video! It was funny :) I put a link to your channel in the Phil is not on fire videos. Luv ya ;) x
Dan smiled and giggled at Phil’s message. He replied back a quick thank you and thought that since it has been an hour he could check on how his video was doing. He knew since Phil was popular that people would have already followed the link.
When he did click on the video, he was happily surprised with how many people had actually watched it. He already had a tone of sub scribers! Dan did a little happy dance in his desk chair, reading through the comments. The video already had over 300 views and a lot of likes.
Dan knew that with this sort of response he would be making a lot of videos.
