Waiting. It seems like a simple task to those who aren't actually waiting for anything in particular, but once you're waiting, waiting for that thing or person, the task becomes difficult and strained.

Think of it like this, if you will. You're waiting for the microwave or oven to finish, and you're bouncing around unhappily, impatiently, wanting more than ever to turn the dial so you can have that thing inside, but you know, deep down that if you do, you could ruin what is in there. So you wait, not without difficulty, but you wait.

And that is exactly what Gerard Way does every single day. Except he can't fast forward time in his situation. He waits, and has been waiting for four months for Frank to come home. Home to where Gerard waits, in their apartment.

Frank joined the army when he was twenty, when Frank and Gerard had been on friend terms; Obviously Frank regretted the decision now he had the love of his life on the other side of the God damned world though. Joining the army, is like getting a tattoo on your face. It seems like a good idea at the time when you're more than likely drunk, but later on it's the biggest mistake of your life.

They were an average couple of two years, and worked around their situation. Gerard would work on his art and Frank would fight. And then every 2 weeks they would video call each other. These calls would mostly end with a sobbing Gerard and a comforting Frank.

Today was a normal day for Gerard, waking up and drinking around 10 cups of coffee before he could even comprehend making a full sentence. But something felt different, not necessarily a bad different, just different. Like knowing you're getting something, but not knowing what that something is.

Knocking the feeling on the head, Gerard changed into one of Frank's shirts, and some of his own skinny jeans. Then he dragged himself into his studio and began to work on his comic.

Time flew and soon it was around 4 PM. There was a knock on the door. Gerard guessed it was probably Mikey, his annoying little brother, that Gerard swore he could not love anymore than he did, or one of the neighbors with his mail, but it was most likely Mikey.

So Gerard simply just called, "Come in!"

The door opened, and the oh so familiar voice said, "You shouldn't do that you know, there's some real creeps in Jersey, baby."

Gerard was shocked, speechless even. His own knees gave way. That voice. The voice he would recognize anywhere.

"Frank!" Gerard wailed, already with hot tears streaking down his face. He embraced the smaller, but much more toned man and sobbed. Frank whispered sweet nothings into his ear, what else could he do? He couldn't blame his boyfriend for acting like this - Frank was selfish. The word 'Boyfriend' made Frank sigh. It didn't fit the love he felt for Gerard and reminded him of his plan.

"Gerard," Frank said, prying the still sobbing man from his shoulder, "I need to do something okay? Just stand their and answer honestly."

Gerard nodded. Damn, I need to calm the fuck down, Gerard thought to himself, Chill out.

"Okay, so we've been together for 2 years, and there's nobody in the whole world who means more to me that you. You're really the first thing I think of when I wake up, and the last thing I think about before I sleep. I know it sounds cliche, but it's true. I hope you understand. There's nothing I want more than to not call you my boyfriend anymore, it's not the right name for you. You deserve more," Frank took a shaky breath, then continued, "you deserve so much more, so Gerard Arthur Way, will you marry me?" Frank asked pulling out a ring.

You know in cartoons, where the characters jaw drops like a foot down? Well now was the first time Frank had ever seen that happen in real life.

"Yes! Yes, oh my god, yes, I love you!" Gerard cried, finding scarce words, and jumping on Frank and kissing him. They stayed a jumbled mess on the floor.

Yeah, Gerard thought, it's definitely worth the wait.

Yeah, I still hate this )):
