Something Stupid
2 ReviewsAmber's POV
Up on your seats, make your body sway
Socialize, get down, let your soul lead the way
I think we only got through about half our movie when I just decided to give up. Mikey and I had been nipping at each other, teeth grazing ear lobes, light moans emitted as lips met soft spots on necks. I flipped over so I am straddling Mikey on the couch, our lips crashing together like water meeting the sand. We are both on fire, hands roaming, and in the end Mikey is shirtless and I am no longer wearing his sweatshirt.
All this play stops when Gerard walks in the door slamming it behind him telling us to get a room. He looks hurt and confused beyond reckon.
Now, an hour and a half later Mikey and I are still sitting downstairs with Gerard convincing him that alcohol is not a way to solve his problems. Frank shouldn’t have kissed Gee. He should have know that would solve nothing.
“Gee, we’ll get through this okay,” I say using a soothing voice, my thumb rubbing tears away from his cheeks.
I hate to see him this way. The protective friend instincts kick in and I feel the need to beat the shit out of anyone who hurts someone close to me. It’s just kinda how I’ve been raised. I want to take Frank and hold him up against a wall and knee him in the nards. How dare he hurt Gerard!
Sure Frank is my friend but sometimes he makes the dumbest decisions.
Gerard wraps his arms around me, sniffing, his forehead on my shoulder, “We’ve got somewhere to be.”
Aww, he remembered we have to go to Newark today. It’s just the thing he needs to get his mind off of everything. I’m glad he agreed to help.
“Yes we do…come on Gee, I’ll drive.”
I lead Gerard up the stairs and to the car, blowing a kiss to Mikey who is standing in the doorway. Getting in my car I start it up and pull away from the curb, heading towards the city.
“Gerard just remembers you’re still you,” I state turning on the radio. It happens to be on the Spanish channel playing the song Me Enamora.
Gee laughs a little, scrunching up his nose, “You listen to weird music.”
Rolling my eyes I hit the CD button and allow Mindless Self Indulgence to blare through the speakers. Gee sighs leaning back against the leather seats.
“I’m scared that maybe I am…ya’ know. I mean we kissed and I figured it was between friends but then he tried to put his tongue in my mouth. I mean you and Mikey put your tongues in each other’s mouth but you’re a girl and he’s a guy.”
I nod thanking God I did some research on my phone while sitting downstairs with Gee.
“I don’t think you’re gay. Most people who are gay find out earlier than eighteen. You could be bi or just confused because you’re faced with this thing,” I explain parking my car next to the dance instructor’s silver pick up truck.
“I’m glad you don’t think so,” Gee answers getting out of the door. “So anyway what are we doing here.”
I smile as we walk into the dance studio, “I dance Gerard. It’s like this freeing experience. I thought I’d share it with you.”
He just nods as I walk over to start warming up. Although he looks a little out of place amongst the other people sitting and watching but it doesn’t matter. Gerard’s eyes follow me around, his lips occasionally pulling up into a smile.
When the real routine starts I stop watching Gerard. I let the music completely take over. All that is running through my mind is the dance moves. As the song slows and starts up again I flip, landing on my feet.
We run through the song a four more times before instructor stops us. Heaving breathing can be heard as all eight of us gather up.
“As many of you know our competition is next week on Saturday. That is here in Newark starting at 6:30. You must be there and signed in by that time or you will not be able to compete. If we manage to make it into the top three dance crews we will be traveling to New York City to compete in the biggest street dancing competition on the east coast. See you guys on Tuesday.”
With a nod I look over to where Gerard is sitting next to him is Bob. What is he doing here?
Striding over to the boys I cross my arms across my chest, “Hello Bob.”
“Hey Amber, you looked really good out there.”
“Thanks,” I answer figuring it’s better to not start anything here. Of course I love Bob but I wish he would trust me enough to come to Newark and do my dancing. It’s odd for me to have invited Gerard. I don’t like performing in front of people I know.
“I seriously had no idea,” Gerard says as we head out towards my car. “Well, I mean I know that you cheer but this is like something else. How come you don’t share this?”
“It’s kind of a private thing,” I answer turning to Bob who is standing by his silver Sedan.
“Will we be seeing you tonight Amber?” Bob questions.
I chew on my lip for a little bit, thinking this over. As much as I’d love to bring Mikey home to meet my family I’m worried about how they’ll react. The Bryar’s are very nice people I’m positive they’ll be accepting of my boyfriend. I always feel so comfortable at Mikey’s house and he’s so open there. Afraid that in a new element he just won’t be the same, I spend time a lot of time at the Way’s.
“I might be around later. Tell mom and dad not to worry, okay?”
Bob nods, “We miss you Amber.”
Glancing at the ground I shrug, “I’ve missed you too.”
With that Gerard and I get into my car. Backing out I head back towards home stopping at a diner a few miles away from where Gerard and Mikey live. We might as well go ahead and have dinner.
The two of us eat quietly and in about thirty minutes we are headed back out to the car.
“So did you have a good time?” I question.
“I suppose,” Gee says, backing me up against the side of my car, his hands on either side of my head, his arms up so I can’t get away.
His lips meet mine with some sort of urgency. What the hell is this? Mikey…oh my God, Mikey, this is like cheating…kinda. I don’t want this at all. Turning my head, I push hard on Gerard’s chest causing him to lose his balance, falling onto the floor.
“What the hell Gee?!” I questions, eyes ablaze.
“I…I just wanted to make sure. I…I need to go.”
With that he takes off down the road. What have I done? In the sate he’s in he’s a loose cannon. I have to go after him. He can’t be alone, not now and especially this far away from home.
I quickly get into my car and take off down the road. After about ten minutes I still cannot find Gerard. This is not good at all.
Pulling out my phone I call Mikey who answers on the first ring, “How are you beautiful.”
“Not so great Mikey, you’re brother…he, he just ran away. We’re out by Randy’s Diner. I’ve been driving around for like ten minutes. I’m worried about him Mikey.”
“Fuck, um…I don’t know where he would have gone. Maybe to Ray’s. I’ll call him and let you know.”
“Thank you Mikey.”
He doesn’t answer, the line is dead. He’s worried about his brother just like I am. I try and think like Gee. I fail miserably because all I manage to think of is the bottle of vodka sitting by the corner of Gee’s closet…shit. That’s what he wants. He knows his way around this town better than I do. By now he’s probably home.
I debate wither I should call Mikey back or just go straight to the Way house. In the end I just decide to go straight to where Gerard lives. Right now it’s of vital importance to get to Gee before he does something stupid.
Hope you all enjoy. You want another chapter from Frank's POV? Yes? No? Let me know
