If I could count all the hairs on your head
And find them as numerous as the stars
I would not be surprised
For you are ethereal

If I could compare your eyes to a precious gem
And find them more vibrant
I would not be surprised
For your beauty is absolute

If I could find that your sweet voice
Could soothe more pain than the strongest medicines
I would not be surprised
For your most simple words are music

If I could stay with you for all eternity
And never find myself unhappy
I would not be surprised
For your presence is euphoria

If I could present you to the divine powers that be
And find that they bow to you
I would not be surprised
For you, yourself, are divine

If I could approach you, talk to you
And have you smile at me
I would be surprised
For you are not, and shall never be, mine.
