Prologue
Blood Bunny’s p.o.v
The zones can be a boring place; the same scenery over and over again, the yellow sands to the small desert shrubs to the blue sky with a green tint to it. But at least I’m not with “them”. “Them” being BL/ind or Better Living Industries, as it’s better known. It’s a company run by a man called Korse. He’s the ‘leader’ (or dictator, it depends how you see it) that gives you a “better life”. Or so that’s what the advertisements say. The reality is tedious, the same chores on repeat, a strict regime that you must follow, super strict rules and regulations. No colour, no free mind and you take your pills. I despise it - that’s why I had to get away from it all, escape from Battery City and run into the zones with my sister Ruby Explosion. We both had a desire to become Killjoys; we did and have never regretted it.
