Sample of your writing: Forgetting I needed to take my trash out, I groan as I slip on my black slippers and slide on my short thin robe. I grab the two trash bags from outside the door and walk down the apartment complex hallway and to the main door. I turn the corner and toss the trash inside the large bin, but a noise catches my attention afterwards. I look up curiously, it's very faint. I listen a bit more, thinking it was a dog or maybe just my imagination. I head back to the apartment, but I hear the noise again. Looking around, I can tell it's coming from the side of the building, and even though I probably shouldn't investigate, I do anyways. I walk around the dark short alleyway, my eyes scanning the scene. I can't hear any movement, but as I walk closer, the noise becomes louder. I'm confused as I realize it's not a person's voice. It's more of a soft whimper, echoing off the walls.
Despite searching, I can't tell where it's coming from. Giving up, I head back to the apartment, that is until I hear the noise pick up by a metal trash can. Carefully I walk towards it, not sure what I'm going to find and rather scared to be honest. Now that I'm closer, the noise sounds familiar, almost too familiar that it sends a chill up my spine. I look at the trash can in disbelief, rummaging through crumpled papers and fast food wrappers. My stomach suddenly goes heavy as the noise is now clear with the trash being moved out of the way. I gasp loudly as I realize what's inside and look down in pure shock.
