Alex's Pov.
I wondered what was taking Hayley so long fixing her eyeliner. It takes her like thirty seconds to do usually. I was about to go look for her when a flash of blue passes before my eyes and steals the football that was sitting at my feet. Said flash of blue was now running in the opposite direction with the football. Damn that girl can run fast. I was debating on chasing her when she just collapsed. It took a moment for me to process in my mind what had happened but when it did i ran over as fast as i could.
"Hayley?!"
I tried to wake her up but her eyes just wouldn't open and i wasn't getting a reaction from her. She was still breathing luckily.
I picked her up and ran as fast as i could past Harvey,Nick and Andy. Ryan's gang laughed when i ran past them in a panic and i knew straight away that they were the ones who did this to her.
I ran in the direction of the nurse's office. Please be okay.
Ryan's Pov.
I saw Alex run past us with an unresponsive Hayley lying in his arms. I felt bad now after seeing what a panic Alex was currently in. It was partially my fault. Even though i didn't take part in the violence end of things i put the idea in their when i was caught staring at her and it was my group who did it and i was there when it happened.
The guys and girls around me started to laugh as Alex ran past us in a complete state of panic.
I saw all the injuries that were inflicted upon her today. She had blood in her blue hair and had bruises on her face and wrists. Her wrist sat at an odd angle and i knew it was broken.
Megan told me to meet her at her house later and she walked off with her friends. At least i might get the chance to apologise to Hayley then.
Alex's Pov.
I ran to the nurse's office as fast as i could. I burst through the door and Nurse.Hayes was quite startled at my sudden entrance. She told me to put Hayley down gently on the bed thingy in the corner of the room. As i put her down only then did i notice all the briuses and marks on her face and wrists and the blood in her hair.
The nurse called her step-mother and i waited with her until she arrived.
She still hadn't made any signs of waking up yet. I promised her step-mother that i would come and visit after school.
Ryan's Pov.
After school i made my way over to Megan's house. I saw that alex's bike was in the driveway so he must be here. I knocked on the door and Clarissa answered. She told me that Megan wasn't home yet so i could wait in the living room if i wanted.
I entered the living room and saw Alex sitting on the floor beside Hayley who was lying on the sofa. She didn't seem to have woken up yet. I felt Alex's glare on me as i walked over to an armchair in the corner of the room.
"Sooo..." I began,trying to make consersation.
Alex looked over at me.
"I know you and you're group did this to her."
I stayed silent not knowing how to reply to this.
"You couldn't just leave her alone,could you Ryan!?"
I was about to open my mouth to speak but Alex cut me off again.
"She likes you,ya'know...she thinks that you don't really belong in that group and that you're one of the nicest people she has spoken to when you're not with that group...you speak to her in music don't you 'cos i hope there isn't another Ryan she speaks about all the time."
"Look...i'm really sorry..i didn't mean for anything like this to happen..i promise you i didn't do anything violent to her..i was caught staring at her at lunch time and when they asked me why i was staring at her the first thing i said was that i was planning our next attack on your group but i didn't mean for anything to happen i swear..they singled out Hayley and before i had a chance to say something they were already going after her...and yeah i'm the Ryan she speaks to in music...and if you can keep a secret..i..i..i think i like her...a lot."
"Woahh..didn;t expect that but i'll keep your secret but just for the record..she likes you alot too..she's totally into you."
I gave him a small smile and a hint of a blush rose to my cheeks.
"Awwhh look who's blusing." Alex called out.
I began to laugh and soon Alex was laughing as well. We began to talk about things from guitars to bands and music. I was beginning to really like Alex and i regret torturing him at school.
"Look Alex i'm sorry for all the stuff i've done to you at school..if i could take it all back i would..i promise i'm not lying."
"I know you're not lying i can see the sincerity in your eyes and it's okay..now i know what Hayley sees in you when you're not around your group."
He smiled at me.
"Thanks Alex..is she gonna be okay?"
"Yeah she'll be fine just a concussion and a broken wrist i think...she'll probably be back at school tomorrow or the next day knowing her."
"Has she woken up yet?"
"Nope not yet but she'll probably wake up soon."
"Ohh right.."
Megan walked through the door and led me upstairs.
"Cya.." i said to Alex as we walked past him.
He gave me a wave followed by a sympethetic look.
I gave one last glance at Hayley. I never noticed how cute and peaceful she looked when she was sleeping.
We went into Megan's room and i know you're gonna think something nasty happened but it didn't she made out with me (Ewww!!) and then started texting her friends while i sat around for about two hours.
Alex's Pov.
Hayley still hadn't woke up and it was about seven so i was about to head home for dinner when i heard her stirring from her sleep.
"Ouch..." i heard her mumble.
I chuckled at her sudden realisaton as she got up too fast.
It obviously wasn't enough to stop her from challenging me to a game of guitar hero.
Typical Hayley.
After about five rounds of guitar hero she was beating me 3-2. We were about to go into another round when my phone buzzed. It was a text from my mum saying she wanted me home for dinner. I said my goodbyes to Hayley and i told her to say goodbye to Ryan for me when he came downstairs. She gave me a confused look but i told her just to do it and i'd explain tomorrow. She gave me a shrug followed by a goodbye hug. The hug almost felt like a thank you hug as well and i knew what she was trying to say. She was kinda awkward with feelings and how to express them but i've known her for a long enough time to know what she meant. She then went over to the sofa and turned the tv to The Big Bang Theory.
I got on my bike and peddled home.
Hayley's Pov.
I was confused when Alex told me to say goodbye to Ryan for him but i shrugged it off and went over to hug him. He did a lot for me today and i didn't know how to thank him so i just put all my feelings in that hug. I knew he would understand. When he left i went over to the sofa to watch The Big Bang Theory. After two episodes of this Ryan came downstairs he was about to head out the door but i called him back.
"Hey Ryan, Alex told me to say goodbye."
He smiled at this and i wondered what those two had been up to.
I was about to turn around and head upstairs to bed when Ryan touched my shoulder.
"Umm i'm sorry about today..i didn't mean for it to happen...i"
I cut off his awkward speech with a hug.
"I know Ryan..i never blamed you for it..you're just hanging around with the wrong people."
I pulled away from him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I don't know why i did it but it just felt like the right time. I went upstairs and fell asleep instantly.
Ryan's Pov.
SHE KISSED ME ON THE CHEEK!!!!
I walked home happily knowing that everything was sort of set right with Hayley and Alex.
I went up to my room and had one of the best nights sleep i have had in ages.
