Slash is tired of Axl hiding their relationship.
“It's true. C'mon, this,” He motioned between them,”is nothing serious, it cannot be more than this, Slash. You know it's the truth.” Axl soon regretted the words when he saw the pained look on his lovers face and he felt.....guilty?
“Why not? Why can't it be more, it's because your scared of being judged, that's why, Axl. You love your reputation so much that you would never ever do anything to fucking ruin that.” Picking up his cigarettes and his leather jacket, Slash made a move for the door,” You know what? Fuck you, from now on, I’ll stay out of your way and you can have your reputation unharmed. The rest of the guys don't mind us being together. Hell, they said they knew even before we did.”
Izzy, Steven and Duff were happy for them. When Axl and Slash were together they were happy they both changed eachother. But on stage and in the public, Axl stayed as far away from Slash as possible and they could tell Slash didn't like It.
He opened the door but was stopped by Axl grabbing his wrist,”I didn't mean it that way, Slash. Please don't leave like this.” He slammed the door shut and looked at him, taking in the pissed off look he had, even though he couldn't see his eyes behind the mask of his curly raven hair.
“You did mean it. If you didn't you would’ve said it, Axl.”He whispered and he leaned against the door. The singer could see Slash's shyness coming back; the Slash he loved. He grabbed the guitarist's hands and entwined them with his own and he smiled secretly as he heard and saw Slash calm down at his touch,”Your not gonna leave are you?” He whispered.
Slash sighed, he just couldn't deal with this shit any more. So he decided to play by his head rather than his heart. His head knew that Axl wouldn't ever tell their 'secret'.
“Not the band. I'm just finished with this.” He watched as Axl stepped back, some emotion playing on his face and Slash decided he better leave the room before something bad happened. Opening the door, he went to join the rest of the band downstairs, in the recording area as he tried his best to ignore the smashing and sobs coming from his room.
4 Months Later -
Axl watched silently as Slash sat on the seat across from him, strumming an unknown tune on his guitar. They had barley talked since their fight, and the only time they did was when they went over chords for the new song for their album. Axl missed him, he missed sleeping next to him, kissing him and he hated it!
Him, Izzy and Duff were sitting on the worn out couch, going over some lyrics for a new song,”Slash, man! What you think about the new song?”Duff playfully kicked the guitarist on the shin to get his attention. Slash looked up, shoving the hair out of his face, avoiding Axl's gaze,”Yeah, sounds good.”He mumbled as he lit up a cigarette and took a long drag.
Duff leaned back on his chair and looked at Steven and Izzy, sighing. They nodded at him, the last few months it had been Hell. Axl and Slash weren't talking and it was starting to cause tension. They knew Axl could fix this, they also knew that he wasn't surviving without Slash. Stubborn bastard.
Axl sighed tiredly and rested his head on Izzy's shoulder as he stared blankly at the piece of paper with scribbled writing on it,”See I told you, Iz. He doesn't give a fuck. Let him get back to his guitar.” Axl said to the dark haired guitarist and Slash's head snapped up,”The fuck you saying? I've been working all day, prick.”He hissed at the singer and anger flashed in Axl's eyes.
“Yeah, sure. You've been working on smoking and drinking all fucking week, us three have been working.” He spat at him and before the other members knew it, It had turned into a screaming match.
“SHUT THE FUCK UP!” Izzy screamed at them several minutes later,”We can't take this shit any more. Every time you two fight it turns into a war But it's gotten ten times worse. It's killing us. Work it out or I’ll kick both your asses.” He sat back down the two lovers looked at him, shocked before they glared at eachother, “He's right, guys. We love you but can't handle this any more. You need to work it out. Your fighting..... its pissing everyone off.” Duff spoke up and also rested his head on Stevens shoulder,”When your not fighting it's great.....your great with eachother.”
They then left the apartment, leaving Slash and Axl by themselves,”He's right. We can't keep doing this, it's not fair to them.”Slash whispered to Axl as he leaned against the wall opposite him,”I know. I love you you know that. But I’m trying to protect all of us. It's not about me, Slash. It's about everyone, if this comes out it would wreck any chances we have to getting higher.”
“I'm not saying to tell everyone in the world, Axl. I'm just saying that when we are with the band your fine or expressing any emotion and we are great but out and about your distant and bitter and I can't handle it any more.”
“I know how you feel. It's hard for me too. I hate it being like this but you know how people are, Slash. I will try, I promise. I just don't want to lose you.”He whispered to the raven haired man and walked over to him. Slash wrapped his arms around his lover and embraced him, burying his face in his neck,”I won't leave you. I love you. Just don't do it any more.”
Axl smiled and snuggled further into Slash's arms, feeling safe and secure instantly,”I love you too. I promise not to be a 'prick' any more.” They both laughed and fell onto the couch, becoming warm in each others embrace for the first time in what felt like forever.
Outside the door, Izzy, Steven and Duff high-fived eachother quietly,”About fucking time. We did it, fuckers.” Duff whispered and they decided to give their friends some 'private time' as they headed down to the nearest bar.
