A) Self expression/I love people with lip rings
B) Mine was done last week
For the pain, well not candy coating it, once your body goes out of shock (yes shock, you gotta bar/hoop shoved through your mouth) it's gunna hurt, and swell, but look amazing
Same thing happened to me, um stay away, FAR AWAY from spicy/ physically hot foods, its like pouring salt into an open wound (not really, I just felt like quoting the song I'm listening to, but it will be uncomfortable)
Give it a week or two (I lied, I got it 2 weeks ago), it'll be like a part of your body
I don't know the placement of yours, but for the middle with the stud, its a bitch to eat
Hope it helped, and suck on ice, eat/drink cold food/drinks, hope you feel better
(#) XxxFallenAngelXxxx 2012-08-08 12:45:46 PMWell I have eleven piercings (sadly not a lip...yet) and while none of mine have really bothered me I have heard that taking ibruprofen painkillers which help with swelling ar any pain pills that are designed to help with swelling I suppose and sucking on ice/ hold small ice pack up to the lip to numb the area. While sweeling, lip piercings like any oral piercing can affect eating, so I suggest eating softer food. And definetley nothing spicy! Just keep it clean and try not to nudge it and it should ease soon. And remembee to drink lots of cool drinks that should help too.
Hang in there darling, it'll be worth it when it is al healed.
- I've never gotten a lip piercing, so I wouldn't know for sure what to do, but my brother got one not too long ago and had similar problems. He just took painkillers every now and then and put ice on his lip, which seemed to work for him.
Hope you feel better soon!
