The Man

There is a man outside my window
He stares but never comes inside.
Why is there a man outside my window?
Perhaps I should go and hide.
The man is at my door today.
Never rang the bell or knocked,
Just stood in the way.
My only chance of escape, blocked.
He's standing at my bedroom door
I hear the creaks and groans.
A sliver of light slithers across the floor
As my bedroom door opens.
Thumpthump. My heart beats in my chest.
Thumpthump. His feet move across the floor.
Thumpthump. I will have no chance at rest.
Thumpthump. And I think nevermore.
This is what comes from my mind at 4:30AM. I'm not even sure...
