Rose lay in her bedroom, waiting for sleep. But no sleep came. Everytime she shut her eyes she saw Jack's face. His eyes closed, frost in his hair. She saw him shivering, making her promise to survive. She was so stupid. There was plenty more room on the debris but she let him stay in the water. To die. Rose felt tears stream down her face. I killed him, she thought. But she quickly shook that thought from her mind. Jack wouldn't want her to think that. Would he? She sat up, sighing. She desperatley needed someone to talk to. Someone who would understand, who wouldn't pity her. Mrs Nichols was kind yes, but Rose noticed the looks she gave her. She had no idea what Rose had been through, the screams, the silence that followed and the coldness of the water. Rose sank back into her pillow as sleep overtook her.
