I'm falling, falling, falling
when all I want
is to fly away.
My arms won't carry me like wings
so instead, I fall, fall, fall
dropping like a stone
in a never ending chasm.
My heart wishes to soar
but gravity holds it firmly to the ground.
I wish to be free of this monotony.
If I were as light as helium
I would simply float away.
But I have mass so the sky is just a distant dream.
If I were the wind
I would move from place to place,
free of my Earthly body.
But I am not the wind,
I'm only human.
So I fall.
Bound to the Earth by the confines of gravity.
To defy gravity
that would be a dream.

This poem was inspired by Iconography by Max Richter. I was just listening to it while in French class and God, it's so beautiful. Max Richter is a fucking genious I swear. I urge you all to look him up. He's pretty fantastic.
