Chapter Fourteen.
3 Reviews“Do you know how boring it is to look at all these flowers?” Gerard sighed. “And I don’t even fucking know where Eliza had pissed off to.”
“But flowers are pretty..” I mumbled, kicking my feet.
“Pretty?” Gerard laughed.
“Yeah..” I mumbled.
“Wow, Frank, I didn’t know you had such a feminine vocabulary.” He once more laughed.
I found myself slightly smiling at his insult as I picked up a broken stone - It was the stone that Gerard had broken the other day.
“How do you do that?” I asked, studying the stone and awaiting his reply.
There was a bit of a pause, and, just when I started to think that maybe Gerard had gone or ran out of credit, I heard him ask in his usual smooth voice, “Do what?”
“Insult people in such a charming manor.” I mumbled, hitting the stone against the stone seat.
“I’m not charming.” He said softly.
“Yes you are.” I smiled.
“Hang on for a minute, Frank..” Gerard mumbled.
I did as he had said and waited.
Gerard had obviously moved the phone away from his face and was now talking to someone else – A women. She didn’t sound all too happy either, but I tried to be polite by not listening to their convosation; studying a rock until I heard Gerard’s voice sigh into the phone.
“Wemen.” He groaned. “I don’t get them.”
“What happened?” I asked.
“She’s pissed because apparently I walked off on her.”
“Did you?”
“No.”
“Well then why is she angry?” I frowned.
“I don’t know. I don’t get her and I’ll never get her.” He sighed.
I couldn’t help but ask, “Does she get you?”
Gerard let yet another sigh escape into the phone. “Wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t. No one gets me, though; so it doesn’t really matter.”
“I get you..” I mumbled.
This time Gerard laughed, “No you don’t.”
“Yes I do..” I frowned, now squeezing the stone.
“Frank, you don’t even understand half the pointless shit I blabber about.” He chuckled.
“Yeah, but I listen to every word.”
Gerard was silent after that, and when it sounded like he was just about to reply, I heard a women’s voice say, “Gerard, stop pissing around. Let’s go.”
Gerard replied with, “I’m coming babe. Just let me finish talking.”
When Gerard sighed into the phone to show that he was talking to me again, I smiled, “Do you have any control in your relationship? Because it doesn’t sound like it.”
“Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it, but, eh.” He mumbled.
I frowned at the stone in my hand and asked, “You ok?”
“Could be that little bit better, but yeah. I should be.” He replied.
“Should be?”
“Don’t worry.”
“But I am worrying..” I mumbled.
The only reason I cared if Gerard was upset or not was because knowing that someone has happy and bright as Gerard is upset makes me feel upset. Yeah, it sounds selfish, but I didn’t want him to be upset because if he’s upset then so am I, so I want him to be happy and make me feel happy.
“Hey, I can take care of myself.” He told me. “You shouldn’t be worrying about me.”
“Can you, Gerard?”
“Can I what?”
“Really take care of yourself.”
Gerard was silent for a bit after that; probably thinking or gone.
“Goodbye, Frank.” He said quietly on the other end of the line.
“Goodbye.” I mumbled, flipping my phone shut before the line even went dead.
I frowned at the stone in my hand, pondering over what I do now. I mean, I can’t talk to Gerard, I can’t hang out with Gerard, and Gerard is basically the only friend I have so it’s not like I’m going to call up a random person and ask if they want to hang out.
Mays well go home.
A/n: Sorry. This chapter was pretty short and lame. I promise to make the next one better.
