Part 13: Truth Be Told, Your Kiss Was Bliss

The boys had eaten most of their candy for the past hour, and I sat there in my kitty costume watching them with amazement. I’ve never seen five boys eat so much candy in a matter of minutes. Soon enough, they were done, and lying about on the floor with dazed looks.

“I’m bored…” Frank sighed.

Bob groaned. “You just scared a bunch of old people and kids and got candy; now you’re bored?”

“Yes!” He whined the way a child would, and threw his arms about.

“Okay, fine,” Mikey said. “If it’ll shut you up, let’s play Truth or Dare.”

Frank perked up at the idea and had a big grin. “Okay!”

I frowned at the idea, and scooted back. The idea gave me bad vibes, and my stomach churned at the idea of the dares they’d do. They could dare me to do something stupid like strip. Gerard noticed this and tugged on my hand.

“Come on, it’ll be fun,” He smiled. I shook my head and he chuckled. “Please?”

I sighed, and gave in; scooting in to close the circle they had created. I sat between Gerard and Frank as they started.

“Okay, Frank,” Mikey said. “You first; truth or dare?”

“Dare,” He said eagerly.

“I dare you to…” Mikey looked around then pointed to a plant on a table. “Hump that plant!”

Frank shrugged, and got up did the dare. I bit my lip to keep from laughing; he just looked ridiculous.

“Okay,” Frank said as he sat back down, and then turned to Bob. “Truth or dare, Bobby-bear?”

“Truth.”

“If you’d kiss anyone in this room, not including Willow, who would it be?” He asked.

“Um…” Bob thought for a minute as he chewed on his lip ring. “Gerard, because he looks a little like a girl.”

“What!” Gerard said. “I do not look like a girl!”

“Yeah, you do!” Bob argued. “Remember when we went to a party and that guy started hitting on you?”

“That was just one time,” Gerard mumbled. They laughed at Gerard who was blushing furiously; I thought it was cute. Bob then turned to Ray.

Bob asked Ray, “Truth or dare, Mr. Fro-Fro?”

“Dare,” He grinned.

“I dare you to go across the street to Mrs. Glasosiski and ask her to help you with a condom!” He laughed.

“What!” Ray screeched while everyone laughed.

“You heard me!” Bob grinned.

“Where the fuck am I supposed to get a condom?!” Ray asked. Bob got his wallet from his back pocket, opened it and threw a little silver packet at him.

Ray groaned and got up from his spot on the floor and to the floor. We followed him and stood at the doorstep as he walked across the street to the Mrs. Glasosiski’s home. The old women opened the door, and Ray repeated what Bob wanted him to say. We were all giggling, but then it turned to huge amounts of laughter when the old women started hitting Ray with her cane. He ran all the way back looking frazzled and with a look of pure fear on his face.

“Okay,” Mikey laughed while wiping the tears from his eyes, “that was probably the best dare ever!”

“Mikey, truth or dare?” Gerard asked his brother, who picked truth. “Most disgustingly sexual thing you’ve ever done?”

“Masturbating to Madonna,” Mikey sighed with a dazed smile. They all started laughing at him while I gave him a creeped out look.

“Why are these questions so perverted?” Ray asked.

“Because we’re, um…guys?” Bob said.

“But what about Willow?” Frank pointed to me. “We can’t dare her to do something all perverted! We need to preserve her innocence!” He grabbed me in a hug, as if to state his point and protect me from their so called ‘disgusting ways’.

They all rolled their eyes as Bob asked me, “Willow, truth or dare?”

I thought for a little; I couldn’t tell them the truth about anything considering my speech difficulties. I showed them two fingers, asking for the second choice of dare.

“I dare you…” Bob paused as he thought, then smirked and said, “I dare you to meow like a cat.”

I sighed, and gave them a sheepish look. They all had expectant faces, and I knew they were all wondering what my voice sounded like; after all, this would probably be the first sound I’ve ever made around them.

I took a deep breath, and raised my mitten clad hand and scratched at the air, making a very soft, “Meow.”

They all stared at me with big eyes, and there was silence in the air for a few seconds. I became a little nervous, until all of a sudden they all yelled, “AWWWW!!”

“That was so fucking cute!” Frank cooed, and attacked me by pinching my cheeks like a crazed aunt. I laughed lightly at him.

“That was beyond adorable!” Bob cried, giving me a huge grin.

“You’re the cutest kitty ever,” Gerard tackled me with a side hug. I blushed, and bent my head down so he couldn’t see my face.

All the guys smiled at his, and when Gerard saw them he blushed and pulled away quickly; of course, I shot them a confused look, but shook it off.

“Alright, Gerard,” Ray said, “Your turn! Truth or dare?”

“Dare,” Gerard replied simply.

Frank grinned madly, and whispered something in Ray’s ear and they both pulled away and snickered at each other. Ray had this playful yet devious glint in his eyes; I had to admit, it made me somewhat nervous.

“I dare you to kiss Willow,” Ray said.

My eyes widened and my mouth fell open while Gerard’s hazel orbs doubled in size.

“WHAT?!” Gerard squeaked at a very high pitch

“You have to kiss Willow, Gee,” Ray stated again, and quickly added, “For fifteen seconds and there are no take backs!”

He groaned, and gave the laughing boys glares. I myself, on the other hand, was panicking. He had to kiss me? I never had my first kiss yet, and the thought of Gerard kissing me gave me this strange fluttery feeling at the pit of my stomach. What if I did something that causes him to pull back in disgust? The panicky feeling started to rise and my breathing came out in sharp breaths.

“Go on, Gee,” Mikey urged.

Gerard sighed, and turned to his body to face me. He looked at me and started to blush a little; I couldn’t help but blush back, and turned my head downwards. He extended his hand, and brought it to my cheek gently and brought my head back up to face him. I stood stalk still, and my heart started to flutter faster at his touch. His hazel eyes darted from my lips and back to my eyes. Slowly, he leaned in, and I simultaneously closed my eyes. His lips brushed mine softly, and I shivered a little from the contact. He pressed down softly, morphing against mine.

It was only then did I realize that my first thought was, Holy fucking shit!

The clearing of a throat interrupted my thoughts, and I realized that we kissed for more than minute. I pulled away quickly, and blushed furiously. Gerard did the same and hid his face in his hair, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. I brushed my fingertips against my lips, and I could still feel Gerard’s lips on mine; I had this tingly feeling, and I couldn’t help but smile.

“Well,” Bob said, “that was interesting.”

“Yeah…” Gerard sighed, shooting a glance at me from the corner of his eye. “Let’s do something else.”

“Movie?” Mikey suggested, and the others agreed. Mikey crawled over to shelf where there were several movies stacked. He looked through them, pulling out ones behind him. “Okay, Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, or Children of the Corn?”

“Children of the Corn!” Frank shouted, snatching the cassette of his Mikey’s hands and shoving it into the VCR.

“I’ll go make the popcorn…” Bob sighed.

Gerard helped me up off the floor, and I plopped myself on the small couch and Gerard followed suit by sitting down beside me. Mikey and Ray claimed the two armchairs, while Frank lay on his stomach on the floor. Bob came in with two large bowls of popcorn, sitting himself by Frank, and handing us a bowl.

The movie started, and at first I thought it was alright. Then out of nowhere the children started to brutally murder the adults in their town. I shrieked quietly and hid my face in my knees, shrinking back in the couch.

Gerard chuckled and leaned down to whisper, “It’s okay, come ‘ere,”

He hugged me to his chest as I hid my face away from the TV and the terrifying screams.

Throughout the movie, I hid myself in Gerard’s shirt. I couldn’t bear to watch the movie, and only once or twice did I actually look up. Frank and Mikey fell asleep in the middle of it, and were snoring quietly. Leaning against Gerard made me feel comfortable, and nearly on the verge of sleep, only to pull out from my exhaustion by the vibration of my phone. I opened flipped it open and was met from a text from my father.

Sorry, but it’s getting late. You should come home now.
Xo Dad

I sighed, and Gerard could already guess. We both got up and stretched, and Bob and Ray got up to hug me.

“Thanks for coming,” Ray smiled, and returned the smile.

“See ya’ later, Willy,” Bob said.

I waved to goodbye to them, and Gerard and I walked to his car. He started the engine, and pulled out of his small driveway and down the road. He turned on the radio and Oasis’s “Wonderwall” started to play. Gerard sang along softly, and his voice sounded amazing.

Because maybe you’re gonna be the one that saves me, and after all,” He sang. “You’re my Wonderwall.”

I giggled lightly, and he looked at me with a raised brow. “What?”

I shook my head and he only smirked. “What, you like my singing?”

We both laughed, and at the top of his lungs he started to sing, “Today was gonna be the day but they’ll never throw it back to you!”

I laughed harder, and Gerard joined in. He turned to look at me, and smiled. “You should laugh more.”

I arched an eyebrow. He sighed and turned back to the road, a smile playing on his lips. We listened to the radio for the rest of the ride. He pulled up to the front of my house, and we both got out of the car into the cool air. Gerard walked me to the front door, and I couldn’t help but contain the smile I had on my face.

“I’m really glad you came,” Gerard said as we stood on the front porch. I looked up at him, and gently punched my arm to which he gave a tinkly laugh.

We were quiet for a little. “Are… are things gonna go back to the way they were at school?”

I sighed and shuffled my feet, kicking at the dirt on the doormat. He exhaled a soft breath. “It’s okay.”

I frowned and he gave me a crooked smile. “It’s alright, you know? I mean, like, I understand. You don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t to… just know that I’ll always be here for you…”
When he cast his eyes down, I wrapped my arms around him in a hug. He sighed and hugged me, rubbing his hand up and down my back. We pulled away, and I set my hand the doorknob.

“So, um…” Gerard said. “I’ll see you later then.”

I smiled and was about to nod when he suddenly his lips against mine softly. The fluttery feeling returned and my eyes slowly closed. There were no other thoughts; it was just him and I. Gerard pulled away quickly, and he started to blush brightly.

“Uh… um…” He stuttered. “S-sorry!” He walked off the porch and stumbled on the step. I giggled a little and he gave me a goofy smile. “Uh… goodnight, Willow!”

I waved him goodbye, and went inside and closed the door. I was met with Max and Scott sitting on the bottom of the stairs with big grins.

“Saw that,” Max said.

“You still here?” I asked with a hint of sarcasm, and walked pass them up the stairs. Of course they followed me to my room. I sat on my bed and pulled my legs up to my chest.

“That was a super ‘friendly’ hug,” Scott said, doing air quotes with his fingers as he sat down in my bean bag in the corner.

“It was a hug,” I groaned.

“Yeah, but that sure as hell wasn’t a friendly kiss,” Max laughed.

I sighed, and fell on my back, reaching to touch my lips. “Yeah…”

“And it was your first kiss, too!” Scott said.

“Um… second, actually,” I stated, and I laughed when I saw the looks on their faces.

“What the hell have you been doing tonight??” He asked.

I recollected the game of Truth or Dare I played with the boys, and Gerard’s dare. They both were gaping and again I laughed at their expressions.

“Are you and Gee gonna be boyfriend and girlfriend?” A small voice asked, and we all turned to see Cassie and Jack standing in the doorway. They came in the room and sat down on my bed beside me.

“Ugh!” I threw my hands in the air. “Why are you all questioning me?!”

“Because it’s fun!” Max laughed.

I sighed, and the twins sat innocently and watched; Cassie was patiently waiting for an answer. I smirked and attacked Cassie with a hug and started tickling her; she giggled as my hands poked at her stomach.

“Probably not, kiddo,” I said.

“But he’s cute!” She argued.

“So, do you wanna marry him or something?” I asked her.

She shook her head. “I can’t! Gee likes you!”

I blushed. Again for the millionth time tonight, I sighed. “He doesn’t.”

“What makes you say that?” Scott asked.

“It’s just for a fact,” I answered.

He rolled his eyes. “You never know. I mean he did kiss you…”

“Ewww,” Jack scrunched his nose up in disgust.

“Shush you,” I said. “And shouldn’t you and Cassie be in bed by now?”

They both groaned. Max got up and pulled on the twins’ hands. “Come on, you little ogres, bed-time!”

He led them out of the room, and Scott got up to follow them. I wiped at my tired eyes, and stripped out of my clothes. I wiped away the make-up with a tissue, and put on my black pajama bottoms and a striped long-sleeved shirt. I slipped into bed, all the while staring out the window where the October moon shined brightly.

I couldn’t help but contain the delicate smile on my face as I fell asleep.
